Game of Hope 2023 in Beverly Mass - RealXHead, CordViper and more

Just posted on Instagram. This looks killer. I really want to go, but it's a real trek via public transportation from Queens and I can't really think of a way to ask my wife to drive 5 hours back and forth, but I just might. if anyone is making the trip from NYC and has room for a rider, let me know. Not too often Cord Viper and RealXHead hit the U.S.

 

Dang, 4.5 hours by train from where I live!

 

9 hours round trip for a 5 hour event is rough

 

Unfortunately exactly when I’m away from the northeast… a treat for all who can make it for sure. Sure to be some solid gold on offer

 

Really wish I could make this but it's the same day I'm vending at a horror pop-up event 45 minutes south. Kind of a bummer...

 

Really considering this; I'm in Michigan, if there was a guarantee of a PK Biterman, I would book tickets right now, (that's just kind of a dream tho).

 

Only 13.5 hours one way for me. Hopefully, someone goes and snaps pictures so I can live vicariously through them!

It’s kind of insane that they can keep the prices of painted minis $10 even with inflation and traveling. Actually, all the pricing was great which led to some big hauls

 

The cat kid the Goccodo guts and transformer, and that Uomo with an open chest are all amazing. I hope they all sold out of product, those prices are unreal.

 

I love that RxH cat, that milky vinyl is just -chef’s kiss-

 

Such a solid event.
The rules and sales method were very close to GOH2019, with a few minor adjustments.
By early AM there was already a line, and instead of waiting 'til 1pm (about 4 hours) we decided to do popsicle sticks, Mori style, this way anybody waiting could leave the venue and come back when it was time to line up.
Each customer was allowed to buy 1 big and 1 small from RxH, 1B1S from Goccodo, 1B2S from Cord Viper, free-for-all at Uamou (I think she had her own limits). After finishing your shopping, then you were allowed to line up again.
I did have to get curt with the very few flippers that were there. Always on their phone sending each other photos of which item to pick-up. One lady was trying to buy 2 bigs, and later tried to swap for a different one, shit like that. Mori is kind of too nice, and speaks very little English, and I had to get her out of the sales area.

Fun fact, the Callgrim by RxH was last run in 2013. 10 years later he busted it out for this event.

Other than that, seems like everyone had a blast. Artists are all happy, fans came from all over the US, there were the recent fans and some of the OG glyos fans back when RxH was sold online, and day-of-operations went smooth.

 

Excellent venue for this event. The parking area where we lined up was a good place to congregate and not cause too much disturbance to the folks around. Here's to more Game of Hope!

 

I really wish I could have attended. The cat kid. I really really want/wanted a cat kid, that and the cat totems are pretty much my favorite rxh character

Looks like a great event and I wish I could have gone. But I also have mixed feelings about it as a longtime collector (who discovered RxH when Rotofugi started selling them, went to the original shop a few times etc). It's hard not to be frustrated that a guy who makes Ghostbusters and Ninja Turtle toys can't find a way to sell in the US, whether through a vendor or lottery a few times a year or something.
