I bet! Happy for you and your Kitty and thanks to ALL people who love and help animals! I don't believe in a Heaven. But if there is, it's for animals ONLY.
Thank you, @Paulkaiju. If there is a Heaven for animals only, Dahlia certainly was sent from, but I selfishly never want her to go back!
thank you internet for re-introducing me to those smutty Rachael Ray cooking set photos... EDIT: actually this belongs in the FU thread. I regret everything.
Took some large prints to get framed at Michaels. They have a sale going on where it's 2 or more custom frames get 70% off. Saved over eight hundred dollars today because of that sale! So much fuck yeah!
Oh shit!!! Thanks for telling us, I need some prints framed as well! Sounds like the perfect time to do it.
First day back at work making cash. FUCK YEAH! Foot is still sore though. Probably will be for awhile.
We lost Dahlia this morning. It’s been a rough couple weeks, and a very, very difficult day. We’re still trying to wrap our heads around the reality of the loss. It doesn’t feel real at times, especially in places at home you’re used to immediately seeing her. But I would very much like to say a very big, enthusiastic, loving ‘Fuck Yeah’ to Dahlia. Sweetest cat, ever, and she made everything about every day better. We were lucky to have her for almost 13 years and we will miss her somethin’ fierce. And also, again, to all the vet techs, doctors and receptionists that went above and beyond for not only Dahlia, but for us as concerned pet parents as well.
Sorry to hear of your loss. I am a proud pet parent and have lost 2 very good kitties over the years but Fuck yeah to Dahlia!
@aarnfnchr Thanks so much, Aaron. I think everyone can relate to loss, regardless of who, what or circumstances. We’ll for sure be celebrating our time with her for the rest of our days.
I know everyone is feeling it these days, while some people are carrying on and such, for most of us this pandemic has been filled with some sad news, difficult times, and generally a lot of increased anxiety, sacrifices, and adjustments to a new norm. Looks like I will be going back to work next week, despite the ongoing craziness. But it's important to also remember there are some good things regularly occurring, too. I became an uncle yesterday which I could not be happier about. And Andy's recent post is a sign of the long-lasting friendships that can come indirectly from these silly toys. I just wanted to take a second to say thanks to all the good dudes and dudettes (and all others!) of this community. Thanks to those who have helped me out, and thanks for the occasions I have been able to help out others. Our mutual geekery has given me a ton of joy I will never be able to measure. Fuck yeah, being part of this community is a great thing. Embraces and cheers all around.
@ultrakaiju I got the call (and email and text message) yesterday from my place of work telling me operations will resume on Monday as well. It came as a bit of a shock to me, being that my state is still in a shelter in place mandate until June... I’m torn between being worried about having to interact with people again, and being glad to be getting back to something resembling normalcy. I do wish they had given us a little more notice than two days. I was planning to go food shopping early Monday morning to avoid the crowd. I’d go tomorrow, but I’m waiting for a new refrigerator to arrive; ours broke last weekend and it’s been a hassle trying to get a new one delivered and installed during all this shot going on.
With our main clients in travel, hospitality and luxury goods, work dried up virtually overnight when the UK government shut everything down. After 10 years of working independently, having no work to do took some adjustment (usually 24/7 at this time of year), but now I'm kinda enjoying the retirement test-run and wondering how easy it will be to get back in the groove as/when things start picking up. Not that there'll be a big panic as pubs/bars/restaurants and International travel will probably be FUBAR for quite awhile. Like the rest of life, the sofubi collecting might've slowed down . . . . but on the flip side, the BBQ has never gotten so much use! More incriminating toynerd photo's to follow!
Yep, having some outdoor space would put a whole other spin on this lockdown situation. I am naturally not a city person, and can barely take it at the best of times, but secluding one's self indoors indefinitely in tiny flats is not good for anyone's mental health. When I said I wanted to live away from all humans isolated in a cabin somewhere, it wasn't the inside of the cabin that was the main selling point.
After Covid messing up the delivery services my brother decided to drive for 6 hours to pick up his pinball machine he recently bought. Fuck yeah, he got it home in one piece and its working perfectly! I cant wait to play on it
Nice one man! I can foresee hours of fun on that one (not that I have played this particular unit). Does it have a 'cheat' button, or will you have to go visit your brother with a sack full of 50p coins? I don't know anything about the Williams brand, but anything with a pike on it, automatically gets my blessing.
^^^ Great news about the Pinball machine, although I worry about your brother's taste in home textiles!
Yeah, you just set it to free mode. He's been telling me about the settings and there's a surprising amount of ways you can tweak the game-play, like how long the special-when-lit lights stay illuminated and how sensitive the nudge is ... Thats his wife's hobby . She's heavily into vintage fabrics.
I say fuck the sun, sky, and stars. I'm never going out again! Never have so many people failed to bother me from one day to the next. Is there a [misanthrope] [/misanthrope] tag? Fuck yeah solitude!
FUCK YEAH TO EVERYONE DONATING TOYS, MONEY AND THEIR TIME FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT. I’m no math wizard but my per my calculations, a fuck ton of you guys were able to raise a shiiiiit load of money for BLM and other charities fighting for equality and funding systematic change! It may seem that one voice won’t change things but many “one voice” combined is loud! SO FUCK YEAAAAAAH TO THAT! There’s still a long way to go, but march forward friends <3 I see you, we all see you!
It’s been really, really awesome seeing both collectors and artists use this niche community platform to do something so awesome. The domino effect it’s created has been massive thus far, and I hope it continues. Initially I wanted to do prints again, but between setting up/taking the photo, submitting, waiting for the prints, etc, I felt like it’d take too long. So it wasn’t a big deal at all to let go of some favorites from the shelves to contribute. It wasn’t much, but as you said, Kay, the collective spirit of everyone contributing is what’s made the big difference. Seeing artists use their reach to blanket across fans towards donation contributions has been beautiful.
I realize that the dire state of things lately has driven people to doing so, but I feel a little bit hopeful when I see that more of my friends are signing up for the Signal app. The more people that gain an interest in tools like this and start using and supporting them, the better.
Water has been relatively warm. Waves have been super fun. Sun has been shining. New Shishi drops tomorrow. Fuck yeah! @The Moog Love the fish atop the machine. Does it move, light up and sing if you bang a certain pin
