@rattanicus Ahh, these are super rad and totally cute, Rei! Ha ha. And they make for great visuals amongst big, traditional kaiju toys! That Hayabusa one looks like Speed Racer’s Mach Five on steroids!
@rattanicus im into the little "Dekotora" style truck above space godzilla. I drooled over some larger models like that at toys r us japan.
Oh my gosh YES. I've been obsessed with the whole culture for a while, but the models are so pricey, and more than that, I'd never have the time to put into the builds. I was so happy when Hot Wheels released the one in the pic! I always prefer 1/64 scale, and the Dekotora vehicles are hard to come by in that size. I do have a Choro-Q one that's super cute! It's in the card over there on the left by Goro.
the whole dekotora and bosozoku style is so fascinating. I would love some diecast models of these things
So true! Army dudes, a bag of jungle animals, my beloved dinosaur and astronaut bitties? I'm old enough to have been in on the initial Kenner invasions, but rack shelf shorties beat almost everything else to the floor-wide playscape. Long story, but nearly *ALL* of my collections have recently been binned and shuttle off to storage - no new pocketcam shoots on the horizon - but it's easy enough to pluck a few samples of another lifer love that I've showcased here on the board before... Spoiler Megos and Mego-likes!
My current obsession: Spoiler I was at a toy show and found a cute little dino in a two for $5 bin. After looking it up, it turned out to be a Fruity Pebbles cereal premium from the 90s that changed color in the freezer: Then I found more. This could be bad:
For me it's always been the Brendan Monroe Sours - something about them has always intrigued me and I feel very lucky to have the full set. Spoiler
