Re: Designer Con.. Was number one in line and frozen despite 2 shirts, sweat shirt, snow jacket and my trusty (uber tough) skull n crossbones Snuggy. Well worth the cold and the wait to meet up with the likes of Jace76 and friend, jefftalica and friend, mike like bike and his friend for good conversation and laughs before the doors opened. Was also great to see Josh, Carl, Amy, and huge thanks and great toy karma going out to Joe for helping me at the PK event. I am truly grateful. Forgive me if I forgot anyone... Still working on 32 hours of sleep depravation. Toy highlights= Grody Shogun goodies and all of PK's beautiful custom toys!
Re: Designer Con.. While you uncouth knuckledraggers are all at D-Con, some of us groomed and cultured persons are at the LA Opera for their open house. Experiencing the upper crust of what civilized... Oh who am I kidding Post some pix people. I can shoot some pix of costumes from Grendel if you want while waiting for The Prospector to start. It's a celebration of Puccini's The Girl of the Golden West
Re: Designer Con.. Yeah so Paul's table got bombed? I had someone out there trying to get me a mask, but I guess my luck has finally run out.
Re: Designer Con.. Another fun time at D-con! It was nice meeting you melek_taus and Nate, and good seeing old faces again.

Meeting cool folk in person always reminds me whats cool about this scene - a welcome change from boring pointless board drama.
Re: Designer Con.. Same exact sentiments as Carl posted above. Really fun time, met lots of new people, several I've chatted with online several times. What I love about dcon is it is a lot more mellow than sdcc and people seem to be a lot more relaxed. Overall, I think most people got at least 1 thing they wanted, missed out on other stuff but were still having fun. At least that's my experience.
Re: Designer Con.. I want to thank the generosity of our SB friends! David, Carl, Kris & Thanh (nom nom nom teh cookies!), Jon and especially the Halloween monsta Scott who I hugged lots. Nate and I will always be grateful and mindful of your kindness! Paul and Melissa for bringing the awesomeness. We enjoyed seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones! Nate this time around took the pictures as I was injured and had a brace on my arm so I am not really sure what he took and I'll be uploading this weekend after some much needed rest.
Re: Designer Con.. Awesome seeing everyone again and meeting a few new people, nice to finally meet you as well Carl, good talks! I do not recommend the lobster burrito from Rubios, DO NOT.
Re: Designer Con.. My conversation with the lady taking my order at rubios: Me: So these lobster tacos are new? Her: Yes Me: and there free because they're new? Her: yes for the weekend Me: are they good? Her: they're ok Way to upsell your new product, but at least she was honest
Re: Designer Con.. i try to explain myself if poss. 1st i arrived late, dont want to be A-hole to go to front of the line. 2nd i go see Nebulon5 for the custom. he is Tall & nice. then rush to lulubell, but still late. someone already line up b4 grab last 2 pcs. and go TAG get the KID & look for Aaron but he is in PK booth. my mistake i forget he sell own item in D-con. Found Aaron (he is cool & not talk 2 much) & take my order, then met Paul 1st time & talk for a while. he is good & nice too. i just shop around & take some picture. Go lulubell ask again but all sold & i cannot help mule for someone. Final, i pass by Spanky & Nebulon5 chat with some other people. may be they are from SB too. i think i am not good at communication with people. i only want to cut down my toys collection. i just a normal person who need food & money to pay my bills. i dont like 2 face. you can be my friend or foe, that is
Re: Designer Con.. Haha, it wasnt until we were leaving that Lawrence mentioned the lobster was the free one and then i felt even worse, i also noticed they spelled it wrong so who knows what it was. Were you at our table?
Re: Designer Con.. Spank Stokes had a webcam going. I was hoping to see some of you guys (and probably did but don't know what some of you look like). I saw a few friends walk by. Kinda surprised to see how chill DCon is as far as the number of people attending. Hopefully next time I can make it (just to pinch Carl in the butt...hahaha).
Re: Designer Con.. Definitely nice meeting all of you. Carl good luck tomorrow with the bride. Dcon was pure awesomeness.
Re: Designer Con.. Finally got my first Grody! Paul Kaiju table was pretty empty by the time could get near it. I grabbed a Baseman doodled headshot of the Sucklord. Watched a good amount of the Suckathon - he's pretty consistently hilarious. My personal show highlight: Met Matt Groening - was a little giddy when I saw walking through the show... I introduced myself, and he asked if I was an artist showing at DCon, "No, but I am working on making my own Ben Cooper style masks". He pulled out the Button-Lab card I just gave him and asked if he could see pics on that site! I told him they were not there, but showed him some pics on my phone and he seemed genuinely excited about what I was doing! Maybe he was being polite, but it was pretty exciting for me. Any suggestions on what to do in LA on a Sunday? My wife and I are here for DCon and are looking for something to do before we head back to Sacramento. Maybe we'll try and go vinyl shopping - the round flat kind. Thanks! Gabriel
