I would say plenty of fans got hold of the RH and Goccodo pieces; most of those in the queue wanted the resin pieces, I think toycon are to be applauded for getting these folks to come out to a show that isn't heavily weighed toward soft vinyl. there is also no way to police flippers so it's a little unfair to blame them. The headlock lottery was the most tedious piece of torture I have yet endured at a toy show a never ending call of numbers, blind choosing and then if the item was turned down (bomber boy) it went back into the tub for some other poor schmuck to choose. If you are prepared to stand around for 90 mins for the chance to buy a toy and then make around £200 on quid profit on that then good luck to you (I'm not bitter my number wasn't called lol)

Another collector shared a similar sentiment . . . with the sheer volume of Asian shows, exhibitions, pop-up stores and opportunities to buy, it does feel like a kick in the dick for 'em to then 'invade' the one single UK'centric show and make like bandits, be it as collectors or flippers.

Sorry to intrude, but have any of you here had any dealings with Pollock's Toy Shop and Museum? Believe it's in Covent Garden.

So @Anti Social Andy, you would say your not a flipper, right? But on ebay I believe you've made over 20 grand on the last 5 figures you've sold.
Did they cost you 20 grand originally???? I assume you've either made a profit or loss, and of course the average preachy skullbrainer would want to scrutinise each individual transaction in microscopic detail against the vague stone tablets of the skullbrain commandments.
I mean, you guys seem to think your some kind of ridiculous international authority but are you happy to be scrutinised too? I know I've seen staff in the past on here selling things for quadruple what they should know they sell for (or used to sell for) on YJP if you have to be pedantic.

One of those figures you sold dates from 2016 which means you've only had it 7 years or less so it seems there actually are set periods of time in which your fellow skullbrainers no longer regard as "flipping"? Which then means what you've not been telling us is that all those who have been exposing people they *claim* to be "flippers" because they think it gives them slightly more advantage to scare people off and obtain items for themselves actually stand to make a profit just the same if they sell up a couple of years later.
    Oh! Isn't that convenient.

There’s a pretty obvious difference between selling a toy someone’s had for x number of years versus someone selling a toy they bought earlier that day.

@ultrakaiju I'm trying to work out the exact point at which, and at what you become completely outraged.
Is it as the picture hits you your heart drops? Then confusion for a moment as you dumbfoundedly try to take stock of the situation... then the eyes dare to venture across to the price which initially doesn't register as there appears to be too many digits, you think there must be some mistake but nooooooooooo, you become intoxicated with an unpleasant feeling that some might simply dismiss as primitive irrational envy.
"THAT TURTLE SHOULD BE MYYYYY TURTLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"HOW DARE THY PUT SUCH A PRICE ON AFOREMENTIONED TORTOISE!!!!!!!!!"

@ultrakaiju Perhaps your a little bit 'slow' and that's why you can't catch a tortoise in time ;)

Oh, its the fugly threads biggest fan back again. Its been a while ...

'Ok, so now Skullbrain (that represents the worst of the American, British & Australian collectors'

'None of your business, the same as none of your business in you no-brainers constantly telling everyone what they can & can't sell, what they can & can't paint, what they can & can't make, what they can & can't say. There's only a few of you here on a rotation acting like you run the Japanese sofubi industry but none of you seem to realise your outnumbered.'

I assume you only joined so you could comment when we angered you enough? Anyway, the only thing I'll add (as @Bob mentioned) is there's a big difference between selling a rare toy you've had and enjoyed on your shelves for seven years, and flipping a new toy on eBay the very next day.

I find it infinitely more irritating when I realise someone else bought something I missed caused by a few minutes of hesitation and I can still see it there on their bookshelf covered in layers of dust several years later and they won't sell it, not for a trillion dollars... apparently.
You should be thanking me in fact, on several occasions Mr. Moog.

This is one of the weirdest sidebars to a thread I have seen on SB, and there have been some doozies.

@Kristupas I don't know you, or your motivation, but you seem to have completely failed to grasp any of the posts here. Which is fine, stuff is not always obvious. But why not have a discussion and try to ask questions, understand things, before stepping in this fashion? Set aside that chip and try to enjoy and share things, or, maybe you are just in the wrong place if that is not what you are after.

Well, you do upload your pictures pretty much as soon as you get things so anyone would know what you snagged before them if its quite specific items from a shop... then again, don't tell me you would use the argument any flipper can use that you can't tell for certain that it's exact same ones.

Why is it that every time I've seen someone flip something I missed I simply tell myself it's my fault for not bidding higher, or not being quicker, or I simply couldn't afford it, or I was too stupid not to get it, etc... etc. And it ends there, simple as that.
Then I wait patiently for another one to come along or just give up and move on to something else. And occasionally find out I never really wanted it that badly and wish I hadn't bought a lot of other things.
Is that like superhuman now in this day & age? Or are the flipper arguments always just a load of ol' guff.

Sorry, i don't understand your point. If its about flipping, does it really matter what we post here? Its just opinions, it wont change anything.

I think, when you've been around any hobby long enough, you know what you like about it, and what you don't. It should never be about momentary interest, chasing fads or hype, or impulse buying. If/when it is, it is probably something that is not coming from an area of deep passion, hence later regret. Sure, if you have a slush fund to fall back on, maybe none of this matters, but for most average people on this forum I would say it is about cultivating that interest, developing it, and collecting in a way that is sustainable to you on an individual level.

It does matter, if like you & @ultrakaiju are in the UK you can get into trouble now for online doxing and coercive control which is exactly what your doing, otherwise people such as those guys who were selling the Turdles should have no fear, same goes for they way you sometimes harass those painters.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah... but just buy it - or don't buy it & don't be hypocrites making 20 grand on the side while you pretend to go tut, tut.

OK, i have no idea what you're talking about. I'm an old man so maybe its that, or maybe you're just a kook. Either way, until you start making sense, i'm out.

Yeah, agreed. I don't even know what the messaging here is. Just trying to boost your post count on the forum? Obviously touched some kind of personal nerve with you, but as there is no real engagement here feels pretty pointless. Talk about making leaps. I guess the old KR site is really missed.

Your the one who "don't know who or why" or what it was exactly that set you off like that. Like I say I don't have that problem. I don't get it.
You didn't get the Turtle, oh what a pity.
    Case closed.
