Yeah mate, a harsh reality I've had to get used to the last five years or so. Also, covid shafting the postal prices and Brexshit adding more costs to the whole mess. Putting my sofubi buying on hold has been frustrating.

Great to catch up with some old faces at the weekend, but ToyCon 2023 would definitely benefit from a little more sofubi representation . . . and maybe a one-day blitz rather than spreading it out over the whole weekend!

Couldn't swing the trip this year, but I checked out the website just in case anyways and was thinking that very think, too. I didn't find very much of particular interest to my own weirdo toys, but was hoping that maybe Dennis would make a re-appearance this year. That was the main draw from the one I could have attended but opted out during the Covid wave (regrettable, now). Glad you had a great time though all the same. Ideally I'd like to see (maybe even if it takes a few 'brainers) a much smaller, maybe semi-organised sofubi focused event, similar to the niche ones that have started up in some of the US locales.

In case anyone did not see my post over in the other thread, the good news coming out today is that EMS shipping service from Japan to the UK has resumed as of today.

I was wondering if anyone local might be interested in one of the new [red/blue] Marusan 350 Baron figures? (maybe @Mr Fox or @djkemp?) If so, please drop me a PM (ideally today).

Thanks for the tag, I was extremely tempted by that new Baron, probably the most tempted I've been by any new Bullmark/Marusan recently but I'm trying my best to focus on vintage (basically my cabinet for new stuff is rammed!). Good luck with acquiring one and good news on EMS, my yahoo auction parcel is finally on its way! Cheers

@Anti Social Andy I'm trying to figure out when the board stopped working and when the time got messed up yesterday. Would you say the timestamp is correct on this post above?

Just throwing out a random role call, for no other reason.

So yeah, there are actually a ton on here, and I suspect more. But because people come (and, sadly, leave us), people relocate, not everyone posts on their profile where they are located (or some use vague terms meant to confuse and confound ;) ) I don't exactly know for certain. But if you are here (and want to) give a shout. If you are not, same. Anyone missing?

Seeing some of those names though, does make me think on good board times.

I would be most of the time if I had the money, and more importantly, a reliable supplier

I’m still in the UK but only because someone has to keep an eye on Andy and make sure he doesn’t deliver on The Peoples Republic of West Yorkshire… I’ve seen Mad Max Thunder Dome, I know how it works out and he won’t make a good Tina Turner!

I am posting on SB. It is by definition a requisite to be under some kind of influence.

Just got myself high enough to post and I’m still here hiding away up in Edinburgh (part of the U.K. at time of writing).

I am still here but I haven't been on or posted anything in ages. I will hopefully rectify this soon, it would help if I actually managed to buy something, vintage prices seem really high to me at the moment. :x

So who is planning (or already has their tickets) to ToyConUK next month? Not sure if I will be able to attend, but maybe one day would be interesting - it really depends on some timing and availability; and also if there is a specific something I am super keen on. Not too many lineup details yet, but give a shout out if you guys see something. One thing I am excited for is the screening of TMNT at the Prince Charles! Just booked my tickets, love the film and the franchise (more early than current) so I am amped for this.
