Wowowow amazing! Love your setup and layout. @Alebrije is right, the new display gives it a nice museum display that I really enjoy.
Thanks so much for the nice comments guys. This is the layout ive had in my head for years but was unable to do due to space requirements. These cases are not super practical for most people though, super expensive, very heavy (300+lbs), and it come on a tractor trailer.
For a long time I had wanted to catch one of those monkeys, but just now I had the opportunity to have one and I must say that it is one of those figures that when you have them in your hand you cannot stop admiring and enjoying it.
@Roger - that is an excellent Mechani-Kong you scored. It looks like a nice, clean example. I think so many of them are scuffed up from being such obviously fun-looking toys to play with. I hope to bring one of those home some day as well. I recently added a Bullmark Moguera and Rodan to the collection. I am enjoying looking at both of these sculpts along with the metallic Bullmark paints.
Thank you Mark! Great score, where did you find these beauties, the amount of metallic blue in Rodan is amazing I love how it looks. Both figures look in excellent condition and will be a great addition to your collection. The Moguera it’s a hawaiian version?
@Alebrije - The Rodan was from a Mandarake shop, but the Moguera was a tough win from the the Zenbu 98 auction. I do not believe it is an export/Hawaiian spray, but rather just an alternate variant spray. After a long search, I have added a very special Bullmark Gojira to the collection: Spoiler
Thanks everyone! I've been playing around w/ Lightroom and Photoshop. Still learning but starting to get the hang of it!
@deafmetal that little goji is stunning! He's so tiny! Looks like he was carved from a piece of lapis lazuli, so vivid blue. Do you have any info on this guy's history? Is he a painted keshi or sofubi? Stunning adoption, congrats!
Hi Grace, the little goji is painted keshi. The painted versions were created with slightly firmer plastics so they feel a bit more like slightly flexible sofubi than the really squishy keshigomu. I have seen both squishy keshi and firmer style blanks of these small keshi Bullmarks. For the painted versions, it appears that Bullmark created many variants of different colors with either metallic or matte color sprays. There are also versions totally covered with monochrome metallic sprays. Overdue for a collection update here. It's been an interesing year and it seems some large collections are getting passed along. I have definitely been participating in this activity:
I've managed to find 2 vintage Goji's, a Marusan (left) and Bullmark (right) version. Bullmark definite still holds a good amount of silver sprays. There's also a tad difference in height between the two. Additionally either the bullmark one got baked in the son for a bit or the color is a bit more greenish blue. Some of you guys have some awesome variants and I really enjoy seeing those when they pop up in photos here.
@brobles Excellent gojira in your collection. I also find the endless variants to be enjoyable. Also, no worries with your Bullmark as it does not look to be sun damage but just a slight variation of the blue/green vinyl color that Marusan/Bullmark modified over the years with the different factories providing the vinyl. The hue changes ever so slightly between different variant runs and both companies made so many of these that there are multiple shades of blue/green vinyl for these gojis with some being more blue and some more green. To add into the complexity, both companies have variants with a subtle layer of green paints on the vinyl (often with silver undercoats) to add even more color to the toy. This green paint is barely noticeable unless you compare the color of the vinyl on the bottom of the feet or peek at the joints, but on some of the examples that look very dark green or almost brown/black, the green paint is very dirty or has failed a bit over time. Happy hunting!
Not sure if there are a lot of people into the small Marugacha figures, but this Mothra display by @sofubi_girl on IG is inspired:
Apparently the child who was the original owner of this toy took care to not play too rough with it, I hope I can take care of it just as well for several more years. Vintage Bullmark Mogera.
I just don't know why I became more and more reluctant posting anything on IG, but on the other side, I wish I could contribute more on my beloved thread here even I actually have some technic problem with posting pictures. Here is a Peguira I received this year.
