I know the two green and silver KG in the back are hawaiian versions, but the one in front with more orange and silver in the head it’s considered hawaiian too? Thanks!
Great to finally see your collection. It does not disappoint! Love the framed bullmark add. Also spectacular finger puppet lineup. Thanks for sharing Mark
Let's venture into the basement and check out one of the cases (only 2 shelves. have to save some for the future) and some wall art Spoiler some original art a huge live show poster
Oh my Mark that first pic that case! Where on earth did you find that case? Exactly what I'm looking for when I set up again. Just some random vintage case you found or had made? Now can we talk about whats in the case? Stuff dreams are made of!!! Very impressive, my eyes popped out of my skull lol. Thank you so much for sharing your collection. I love seeing stuff like this especially vintage.
Oh, my eyeballs! Hmmmm... so much impressive goodness My collection needs to hibernate! Love that case! p.s. I spy a Sufenodon!!! Impressive, that he's still got a LOT of green on his head! Who is the maker please? p.p.s. what is the story on the Oscar Myer Wiener, please? And can we please see more cases?
@Lixx A huge antique mall was shutting down and lots of sellers were selling their display cases. That happened to nicely coincide with remodeling our basement so I got 2 at $100 each. The bear was renting a U-Haul truck and wrestling those beasts to their final destinations. @Mr. Humphreys The Sufenodon is by Tsuburaya Enterprise, as are the BigEye, Taigan and Kemeregon. They used to be affordable alternatives to the OG Bullmark versions. Now they are getting pretty pricey too. As much as I like their BigEye and Taigon, their Sufenodon does not hold a candle to the pink vinyl and pastel sprays of the Bullmark. Just needed a place to put the wienermobile and it looks good w/ the giant Bullmarks. I can't wait to see your collection displayed as I know a lot of what you have.
Wows! That room must surely smell wonderful. Very very nice set up! Mark what is the scoop on the rabbit? Looks like one I had as a kid. Is it Made in Germany?
@kichigai The rabbit is just a modern stuffed puppet/toy we got from a museum gift shop. No country of origin. Must have cut the tag off. The vintage vinyl smell really does hit you when you slide open one of the doors.
@Mark K, the whole setup blows my mind, but can you tell me more about those bowling pins? Those are effing amazing.
@Michael Beverage The bowling pins are made by Yamakatsu and stand about 25cm tall. They probably date to the early 1970s with the release of Return of Ultraman series. The look and paint are reminiscent of Bullmark but they differ quite a bit. Not extremely rare, but they do not show up too often. My Shugaron has been "customized" by a child w/ marker.
So much awesomeness! All those giant-sized Bullmark kaijus, the dark green pachis (?) on the top right of the lower shelves (I always forget the exact details on these, but I have it saved somewhere), ...... Is that the blow-molded Baragon behind the removable-masked Redman? Thanks for posting all the pics. I miss the good old days of seeing whole collections like this.
Stunning Goji collection @deafmetal Mark! Can't get enough of seeing the whole range of Gojis too! The small metallic ones are definitely eatable! Total yum!
From left to right Bullmark Gojis. 1.- Goji with blue-green vinyl with silver coat, metallic green back and red eyes. 2.- Goji with dark green vinyl with very little silver paint on the body, metallic blue back and salmon colored eyes. 3.- Goji with dark green blue vinyl with silver coat, opaque blue back and salmon colored eyes. × Image Image URL:
Flesh on one of them is slightly darker. One day I will upgrade that vintage. Both have the Marusan logo but one is a Bullmark.
