Yeah sounds dumb. I mean, they're a rock band who took some black metal elements, that's the best way to put it. I've listened to Meir once through. Didn't like it as much as the first, but we'll see over time. The first also caught me off guard, especially once I read translated lyrics. I hated it at first, couldn't stop listening, then just got way into it.

Shiiiit can't decide whether or not to preorder the vinyl package of the new Ghost or not. Honestly I just want the Secular Haze 10". I have an order for the LP import w/o the BC so I don't need thefull length and I don't care for the shirt with the BC (being TRVE LOL). I might still order it and use the US version to spin. I dunno. Fucking BC and my OCD.

yeah i was in the same dilemma, they changed the packages around from last week.

i just got the single red vinyl and I figure since that secular haze came with all of the packages, it would be easier to score on the aftermarket on the cheap.

I just bought the LP package. I'll use the US version as my player copy and be a total fool and not play my non-BC import. I don't mind the shirt really. I have enough non-BC shirts of Ghosts so it's not like I really care that much. I wish I could get the Year Zero 10" w/o paying a stupid price.

If I'm off of work the next morning I plan to drive to Milwaukee to see them since their only Chicago date is Lolopallooza (if I spelled that wrong I don't care.)

If we are to discuss Ghost beecee here, I might as well present you the Trv-New-Wave-of-French-Black-Metal

I'm half kidding but listen through the end, it's fun and they really mention Burzum as an influence !

Please excuse my ignorance, but I did a brief google/amazon search for a Ghost (or Ghost B.C.) LP package, and only find a 'vinyl' listing. Is there a import package that has colored vinyl w/ a shirt, etc. ? I gather/assume from your post that the import doesn't have B.C. in the bandname ? I think Ghost is rad and can't wait for the new album....any help would be appreciated :)

I ordered from there, the US 12" LP w/Secular Haze 10" and L Shirt package. I also am ordering JUST the 12" LP via import that has no "BC" on it because I'm a freak. That's what I was saying in case I wasn't clear.

^^ Oh shit....I was a spaz and didnt scroll down past the map section and went straight to the 'shop' tab where they only have T's, shot glasses ,etc.
Thanks for the links Chad, I just ordered my LP package too....I LOVE that some record companies are hip to giving you the downloads as well :D
I wonder if ' I Am A Marionette' track will come with a download...

I believe that's only a download with the "deluxe" version or something. But it's 2013, I have no doubt you'll be able to find a download somewhere free after it drops.

^ True indeed....as evidenced by my swiping 'Here Comes The Sun' from piratebay, which I believe was the Japanese bonus from the first LP. Or, I can just record it thru garageband, it would just be convenient if they could include one more song on the download for the price....

    That's cool, I love Satyricon.

Listened to the full Ghost Infestissumam last night and again this morning. I love it, really epic use of the choir singers on more than just Year Zero.

I can't say I like it more than Opus, or as much, but a few tracks are 100% up to par. Nothing I dislike at all. I'm sure I'll end up liking it as much after listening to it long enough. It's "bigger" I guess, more theatrical sometimes even reminding me of a Satanic version of Queen.

I'm glad they didn't try to recreate Opus and at the same time they didn't really try to do something too different totally. They just made it all sound bigger, that's the best way I can put it. I'm not a music reviewer so whatever.

I'm on my 3rd or 4th listen today. I think your "review" is fairly spot on. I'm not sure if I agree with it sounding "bigger"...but maybe. I hear what you're saying about "more theatrical" and "Queen". I feel like it's not quite as dramatic as Opus - maybe more moody than dramatic? So far I like it, but feel that Opus was better. But I didn't like Opus when I first heard it, so I'm very open to the possibility of this album growing on me over time and becoming an equal of (or even improving on) Opus.
Definitely looking forward to seeing them in a couple weeks - just wish that they were playing the same venue they played last time they came through. I fear their sound is going to get murdered by the shitty acoustics of the Wonder Ballroom.

I worked "security" for Watain/Behemoth once. It was pretty bad ass to get paid to watch them. Nergal used the basement of the venue to perform his own rituals(I guess you can say), and Watain prayed to Satan backstage before they went on. They also chugged pigs blood and garbled it all over themselves. Looked awesome, and their set was immaculate. It just smelled horrible.

Darkthrone and Mayhem were the first two black metal bands I got into my freshman year in high school. I still really love early Emperor and Immortal, too. Dark Funeral was a favorite of mine for about a month.

It really was. Them and Behemoth put on a crazy good show. And they both had about an hour for their sets each. Watain reminded me of early Mayhem.
