I realize that you're still somehow mostly oblivious to how this shit comes off, so I'll try and help you out. This toy from the start has done nothing but ride on a wave of hype to sell out immediately and then be the most fantastically over-priced secondary market item pretty much ever. It's almost completely irrelevant what the actual figures look like at this point, because these toys are pretty much not marketed towards people who like toys, but people who like status symbols and the ability to make a quick buck. The new black one you worked on actually is pretty nicely painted as a tribute to Hedorah, and your header and card make it a great package. The problem is, that doesn't matter. Take a look at ebay, YJA, and the trade boards here... I'd be willing to bet that at least half of the released figures have been trade flipped or outright flipped for $600+ You can count on one hand the number of pictures in this thread of people actually enjoying the figures, half of which are yours.

You can stick your head in the sand and pretend that these sell out immediately because everyone who wants one keeps it and cherishes it, but that's just not the case. That means that when you come on and post all three versions of the newest 'hottest' version given to you as compensation for your work, all anyone sees is a dude with three Nags in a box (there's a pun in there somewhere) waving his dick around because he just got three, and everyone else got none. I understand that that's NOT why you posted the pics, but really, that's all it ends up being.

This whole thread, and everything about this toy, is what's wrong with JP vinyl and why so many companies have had to shut down or throttle their releases. Only the hottest, most hard to find vogue shit rises to the top, driven higher and higher by the haves lording over the have-nots.


And come on, picking on me for making my own figure? I didn't have someone else post secret information-less photos and then trickle out information, all the while watching the sheeple anticipation swell. I made a figure in my basement, painted it up, and told people about it, like lots of other resin makers here. If people like my designs, they'll pick one up, and that's sweet. If not, they won't, and I'll try something else. I want people to buy my figures because they like them and think they're fun. That's it.

Why don't one of you complainers send Shigeru an email and offer to do some artwork in exchange for a nag? That's exactly what I did - there was no secret handshake or backroom deal involved. Anybody else here could do the same thing.

I make art for his packages in exchange for toys - I earned those toys - how is that unfair to you? As far as other people flipping toys, how the fuck is that my responsibility? If somebody sells one of your resin figures on eBay for $1000, are you now an asshole?

I'm sorry if you think I'm an asshole for posting photos of a package that I was very excited to receive - but isn't there a whole thread devoted to just that? Maybe you should run over there and scream at everyone.

r u seriously that stupid? This is a COOP release. He designed the header card and insert. You think he does illustrations for FREE?! This was basically his pay and he didnt even know he was getting them.

you keep trying to tell coop how he comes across, but someone needs to tell you how you're coming across. we get that you're upset that you can't have this toy, and you're upset that coop's payment for working on these toys makes you incredibly jealous. yeah, he may be a bit tactless in flaunting something he's obviously very excited about in the most natural way, but you keep taking your frustrations out at him for absolutely no reason other than jealousy. please redirect the vitriol at yourself or at capitalism in general. he's done nothing but contribute to the release of these toys, not artificially throttle them like you're accusing.

let's please just take a breath and have some patience.

See, that's the thing. I don't want one. When the sculpt was first shown, it seemed neat. Everything since then has been enough of a turn off to sufficiently kill an interest I had. As has the hair... it is just too creepy

Mr. Coop, thanks for showing the pix of your Nag. Glad we got a sneak peak of it here. I'm really not a fan of the Nag, but love Coop's stuff and have much respect for him as an artist and a toy collector. Ran into Coop @ comic-con 2000 and that dude was seriously focused on toys!!!!
Aaaaand, the lil CRY BABY on this thread should just log off for a while and take a time out!!! I've seen him complain alot here.
