So even though there are two months left to the year, and a couple of more toys coming out, I feel like we should start posting our Toy of the Year nominations for 2011. Top 5. And for me, it's all new sculpts (as it should be). Though there are some colorways of current sculpts that deserve some recognition on their own too! I'll start it off... First, was the Sloth n' Moth from Grave n' Spoons: *Photo from KaijuChronicle flickr. http://www.flickr.com/photos/fiendsaint ... 693220861/ This sculpt was completely different from the norm. Interesting articulation, but with that made it was of the most interesting posable toys I've played with. Almost becomes an accessory to the environment (as it hangs from my ceiling fan chain). Chilin around, with a smile and drink in hand. Second. Mishka x NagNagNag Necronomicon (Nagball): This was a trip down memory lane. The ultimate collaboration for the most ghoulish tribute, the Madball. The Nagball, or Necronomicon, is just that. A meaty, HP, highly detailed, and full of creepy yet goofy character. And the multipurpose of it being able to "possess" the L'amour Supreme creation, Bootleg kaiju- well, it's on like Voltron. Truly a gem. Third, the Cadaver Kid: This one was unexpected. I got this accidently from another lottery winner that couldn't pay. So sure, why not, I'll take one! And boy, what a bundle of fun he is. Got that Madballs, Rat Fink vibe going on, and feels like a good chunky chicken nugget in your hand. The articulation is just enough, and with that face full of character, it's a complete package. He's a perfect travel buddy too! Fourth. The "soon-to-be-released" Death Sludgie: *Photo from KaijuChronicle flickr. http://www.flickr.com/photos/fiendsaint ... 278741119/ This one isn't even released yet, and I'm already putting it in my top 5. Pure ghoulie, short size vinyl Gremlin. Articulate is perfect, the detail on the sculpt is insane, and full of character. Pull with the verstatilie in acessories (eyes) and multiple heads in the works, well, I couldn't as for me. It's like having a monster-movie prop turned into vinyl for your shelf. Fifth and Final, the ULTRUS BOG!: *Photo taken from toybotstudios flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/toybotstudios/5972852713/ There was much hype around this toy. Pre-orders without finish pics, and a waiting line like no other, with very little details in between to pacify the customer, thngs got skeptical. But the second I saw this photo, I knew it was all worth the wait and they knew what they were doing. Cast in GID vinyl (SDCC version) and with Luke's incredible, well-suited paintjob, this made one destructive beast. The detail in the sculpt are monstrous, and it was like a Skinner painting come to life. The HP's that have been done by Skinner himself are even more than perfect. And articulated claws. Gotta love that. Runner-up- Salamander Joe! *Photo taken from PaulKaiju's Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/paulkaiju/5601200404/ Paul hits with a megaton with this one. A great vintage feel, awesome villain for the Boss Carrion, and a wicked sculpt. Good detail, dark character, and a wicked weapon accessory make this a contender that shall not be judge lightly. Now! Let your submissions begin!
sloth and moth is definitely one of my tops for this year! another standout for me was sloem, by rotofugi + squbbles ink:

Looks like you've got it covered, c.k! I guess I'd just add Butanohana's Mikuras and Grody's OG Ojisan I like the Oji and Kara better too, but EM gets a lot more roughhousing around the house.

Ahhh, seeing all this reminds me what a great year it was for toys. I second the nominations for Cadaver Kid, the WF Grody Shogun Duo, and Cannibal FF. My choice: Buta micros set - classic kaiju, creative, completely new, and a heck of a lot of fun (click to embiggen)
1. Cadaver Kid 2. Marbled Wing pirate 3. Death Sludgie 4. Zombie Fighter 5. Ultrus Bog honorable mention to Cannibal Fuckface and Kaiju Negora ... and if Supreme gets out the motuko piece thats top 5
