THIS IS IT, the very first Velocitron gallery show! We've got amazing artists from around the world participating, and from what I've seen from everyone so far its going to be jaw-dropping! Everyone had their choice of a clear Larvagon, GID Larvagon, or clear Bechigon (or a combination thereof) to paint, and there's some amazing stuff coming out! We've also capped prices at a reasonable level (lower than some companies' retail prices) and all the customs will be sold by lottery so whether you're in Japan or anywhere else in the world everyone will have a fair shot at the figures. Here's a list of the artists confirmed as participating: Blobpus http://blog.goo.ne.jp/blobpus-mm/ Buster Call http://bustercall.blog116.fc2.com/ Dol Roffo http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/dolroffo HARIKEN http://hariken.net/ マルヤマ玩具 / Maruyama Gangu MONSTOCK!! http://www.geocities.jp/monstock_tokyo/ サンガッツ本舗 / Sungust Honpo http://www.sunguts.com/ Skulltoys http://skulltoys.net/SKULL_TOYS/Top.html TTToy http://tttoy.michikusa.jp/tttoy.html TOMOKUNI http://www.creatorsbank.com/users/tomobilly/ やべ さちこ / Yabe Sachiko http://lovelych.com/ MINORU SUGIYAMA SHINPEI TANAKA LASH http://mutantvinylhardcore.blogspot.com/ Paul Kaiju http://www.paulkaiju.com/ Bert Gatcha http://www.flickr.com/photos/gatchabert/ Shirahama - Baikin http://www.shirahamablog.blogspot.com/ Red Yoda http://kaijuart.com/ Kill! http://www.killgraffiti.com Monstrehero http://monstrehero.blogspot.com/ NEW! Plaseebo / Bob Conge http://www.plaseebo.net There are also some other artists that I need to get in touch with (which is entirely my fault and not there's!), so hopefully we'll have a few other names on the list by the end of the week! I'll get more information out in the next few days!!!
...very gentle thinking of wordwide fanbase. very cool lineup of artists already. great to see lots of boardmembers involved as well. congrats man!!
You're out of time Bert Gatcha! I'm painting the Larvagon entirely today after work...painted Bechigon yesterday...both in the mail tomorrow. Phew.
WOW, Ricky! This is exciting! You compiled a list of champions there. Try and take some photos and put up a Flickr Gallery or something, for us who live overseas to drool over.
Don't know if I can get mine off on time either. Betchigon is cool. My friend said "These look like Fabergé eggs!"
I seriously doubt that any of our customs will make it time for the opening This is a real bummer for me personally as this was to be my first showing in Japan. I know it's not your fault Ricky...you got them here as fast as possible...luckily a lot of your artists for the show are in Japan! I still had a great time painting your awesome sculpts! Here's the Bechigon I did. My (Larvigon and Bechigon) customs are both called 'Reapigon' this one is 'Reapigon: EGG of NECROSIS' I'll post the Larvagon custom after I get time to resize the pics... Red/Orange/Gold/Green/Smoke features a Skull head and tinsel inside and a custom Reaper header. Bigger@Flickr
Thanks for all the great comments!!! Everything I have seen so far has been RIDICULOUSLY nice! Really, amazing stuff! Thank you all so much! And I'm super, super sorry about the deadline. Trust me, if I could have gotten these guys out any earlier I would have. But even if they don't make it for the first day, I know they'll be there soon enough! It might even give people a reason to stop by a few times instead of just once! And everything will be up on Flickr, don't worry! Now to make a better flier image because the one I cranked out the other day is terrrrrrrrible!
Ricky if your talking about the image up top, if thats the flyer I really really like it and wouldn't change a thing. The colors and art style is all yours and rules !
Check out my guys that are on their way to Japan. Larvagon the Digestor and Betchigon: Devourer of Innocents. It's hard to see, but Larvy is full of painted MH bones and skulls and Betchy is fill with bloody MH babies. They both have poisonous digestive resin inside. And of course a regurgitated puddle of bones.
Thanks! But I think I nailed it this time, and in black and white so I can actually print some out, too: Sometimes simple is OK for a change! And Cliff.... I love it. Can't wait to see the green stuff in person!!!
Oh thank you so much!! Pretty colorful for a soul stealing reaper I really had a lot of fun doing these guys even though the pressure was on for time.
