Maybe this is a little off-topic, but we must have some Playmobil fans here? I thought the new Scooby-Doo blind bagged figures were great, and thought others might be into the ghost/monster thing, if not as Scooby-Doo merchandise. https://www.playmobil.us/scooby-doo!-mystery-figures--series-1-/70288.html Seen any new sets or have a collection to show off?
Yeah I got the Hammerhead shark with baby and Octopus with baby. They are so killer. The babies are perfect mini figures. Highly recommend those sets. Those are my first playmobiles but like like the simplicity and very high quality.
I couldn’t help myself, I saw these this morning at Walmart, and I spent 5 minutes or so feeling up bags until I found the Space Kook and the diver. I love the cheap thrill of cheap blind bag toys. Especially when skeleton astronauts are involved.
i've been debating doing an online order but if walmart has them i may just run there and see if i can feel around too
I never collected Playmobil myself, but my daughter had lots when she was little. We passed them along to another family when she outgrew them. By far my favorite item in her collection was the Porta potty she saved her own allowance for. She loved making her Playmobil people take a dump.
Man, I resisted those ghostbusters sets and it was tough. Especially with a Dana Barrett Devil dog set.
The closest I've come to Playmobil in ages: Anybody know who the resin wizard behind these is? The original owner couldn't remember.
Cool dude, Rei. I am guessing it is a diver, but seems to me to be more of a 'Chernobyl' response edition. Now I am feeling super nostalgic for the many under[actual]water adventures I had with my ol' diving buddy.
It’s a diver from the Scooby Doo sets! I paired him with a fun little drain plug I got from a friend.
Ah, that's cool. This is the guy I used to have. The coolest thing about it was he came with a 'breathing tube' that let you alternatively sink and float him, via the weighted shoes he had. You know, all this is really inspiring me to do some online hunting to recover my lost youth.
I think a lot of us have been feeling that way lately. I’ve been searching eBay for toys from my childhood. I know it’s only a matter of time before I start to amass a small collection of nostalgic treasures. I used to have this set several years back:
There is a local toy store here that has Playmobil sets and accessories. Every time I'm near it, I stop in and pick up an animal accessory, usually a parent animal coupled with babies. I've been doing this for a decade and have quite the army now. I want to say a couple hundred different creatures...it's a lot of dusting for sure.
Terra toys? Gotta be. Used to take my daughter there just about every other week to spend her allowance.
Haha! You Austin. Yes. Random animals every time, they constantly turn their stock over, too so there are always new ones.
Here is one for @toothaction and probably a few others on here to enjoy [salivating over the photos of, and imagined play therewith, if not being able to shell out for the actual quite considerable price tag]. This one totally slipped by me in any news of development, oddly enough, but I got hepped to it through a shop pre-order. Playmobil is {will} producing a classic Enterprise playset. I got to say, even though I had some beefs about the way Lego handled licenses, Playmobil has been doing really impressive stuff taking a very generic [see: imagination fueled] toyline, and really merged it incredibly well with some classic license properties. This is definitely among the best that I have seen to date. I'll post a few pics here, but I am sure Google will provide up plenty more for anyone that is interested. At a whopping 107cm (or 42 inches, if you prefer), I am sure this offer so much play value. https://blog.trekcore.com/2021/06/playmobil-star-trek-uss-enterprise-playset/ And, for what it is worth, the one place I happened to know you can order it from, though I am sure there are others. https://www.jrtoycanada.ca/playmobi...er&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=jrstartrek21 Classic Terk fun. Sure it may not be my chosen franchise, but still got plenty of love for it, and were this a fraction of that asking price, I could definitely see it.
