Random toy finds that make you laugh/smile

    Okay, time to bring a little humour and good nature back to this board. Along with the hunts, the community, and cool toys (of course), this hobby is full of just plain fun, which I think is why a lot of us stay with it for so many years. :) I've come across so many things I would have never known existed through my exposure to the kaiju/sofubi world. In that spirit, let's have a thread just to share randomness here. Doesn't necessarily have to be strictly related to the hobby, and not really another sharing toy photos thread, just does what it says. If you saw something that gave you a memorable laugh, had you thinking and grinning about it all day, or even just that little internal chuckle; we all need a good pick-me-up from time to time.

    Okay, I know 'live' listings and all, but I think it is a safe exception in this case. I swear I didn't photoshop this at all; just came across it early this morning, and - for whatever reason [in translation] that it came about - it sure gave me a laugh I needed today. :razz: (And honestly, I don't even want to know the actual thing here, because it will never be as good as the translation). I won't speculate, and will let people come to their own judgements. Anyway, hopefully someone else will get a smile too. Thank you Mandarake and Fukuoka, for spreading the joy.


    * I can't see why anyone would find this offensive, but I will entertain discussion if that is the case.

    Remember, these are toys, and sofubi is fun! :thumbsup:

    Just about any Garamon figures make me smile. But M1 and Buta Garas are my favorites. Kougai also make me giggle 'cause their expressions are so goofy in the face. They look like someone intentionally making a double chin face opening their front facing camera.

    That's an odd one for sure. Not sure if this is legitimately something, I suspect not, but then, I have seen some pretty atrocious (and obvious) rip-offs of recognised brands in my time. This is clearly a re-purposed copy of the Big Boy design, a very classic [even internationally-known] trademark, of a chain of fast-food/burger restaurants.

    Probably not really worth bumping the thread for, but if I don't post it, it'll just sit on my computer indefinitely. I do feel kind of cheated our KFC doesn't have Spaceman Ken and his R2-D2/bucket of fried chicken hybrid. The Colonel keeps a fairly random posse, huh? From Mandarake.

    Okay, here is another one that spied randomly. Maybe it is just me (and I never claimed to have a 'normal' mind), but this one really made me laugh. I am a bad person for spoiling the fun and imagination of children, I know. :razz:



    Apologies to all the innocents out there. That camera just makes it.....

    (and yes, I still think Playmobil is great!)

    I was first thinking Toriyama at first as well but then I remembered that Susumu Matsushita did a Gorilla like that if I recall correctly.

    Edit: Matsushita does (did?) all the Weekly Famitsu covers in that great airbrush style.

    I've seen that gorilla before - guessing the photo is from Mandarake and that's where I've seen it. 99% sure it's not Toriyama or Matsushita - I'm a fan of both as well ;)
