Glad to finally score this cool set . . . there are few SB'ers who have it and i've always been really jealous. Thanks for the trade Cindy!
^^ Cheers mate! Has anyone ever figured out what this says written on the header? Just curious . . . .
^^ Thanks mate, every photo i've seen of this set has the same writing and panda drawing. It seems quite unusual for Bear Model . . . . . . I've never seen a BM header written-on with a marker like this for any other release. Has anyone else?
The top seems to say Arigatougozaimasu (Thanks very much). On your header it's hard to read but I have seen other heads with clearer kana that say arigatougozaimasu. Some say arigatougozaimasu and others say omedetougozaimasu (congratulations). The kana on the left ペコリ (pekori) isn't even an actual word but a sound motion used to bow forward. Then follow by (( is to show the Panda in motion of bowing. I don't know the meaning of the number 31. Then it's follow by what appears to be katakana for ケ (ke) and then hiragana め (me). So ke-me, seperate words I believe or they would have been the same kana. I'm sure some here who is more natural at Japanese can correctly translate.
Thanks for the info! Perhaps the 31 signifies the run number of this set . . . . or maybe not. Maybe it was a festival-only release.
On Mandarake there is a sold out version with the number 69 on the header. And there was another I found that had 2-12 on the header when I seached on yahoo.jp images. So confusing.
^^ Ah, thanks for that. I've noticed Bad Seed Jovenes's header on Flickr has 43 on it. So possibly the number is the edition number of however many were made . . . . (i will choose to ignore the 2-12 anomaly).
Slowed down on buying recently but i couldn't resist this one. My favourite of the colorways . . . i was glad to score him, finally. Crayfish Commander from Spectreman.
I think you're right. め is usually used as a counter, and the katakana ケ is also often used as a counting word. So it probably means "of 31" or "number 31".
I missed the discussion on this header earlier, but I think I do recall seeing another toy with similar artwork on it, though I could be confusing it for just another of these sets. I will have to do some more digging to see if I can find some examples. The '31' could refer to the number of the festival, e.g. 'Superfestival 31' perhaps. In any case though, that is such a lovely set indeed. The colours used on both figures are fantastic, and the sculpts are some of the best of each of the respective characters. Congrats to you on acquiring the gem of a pair! Pretty jealous (more just happy though) in an increasingly growing fashion of you Bearmodel family!
Don't know if he's been repainted or not (never seen it before), but I was compelled to pick him up immediately.
^ I'd say he's received a wee bit of embellishment since he lived in a bag: BearModel Bear Model Johnny Sokko Giant Robo
haha! well there it is. One day I'll get the og I guess! Already love this one tho, he's stayin' for keeps.
Yeah, somebody out there seems to prefer that their toys are more on the screen accurate end of the spectrum: Great grab, Rei! ドラキュラン
This one is proof the wants-thread works occasionally . . . i was very happy to score this from a fellow SB'er. Sphinx from Spectreman. There is a sticker on the header which im pretty sure i've never seen before. Anyone recognise it?: Anyone read Japanese? I'm curious to know what this is about: More photos: Spoiler
Nice version Moog, I like it. I first thought the brown vinyl would make it a bit dull but it turns out great. I have the earlier GID release and it has the same sticker. I checked my other BM headers and several others also have it. It is an "officially licensed certificate" stamp. Too bad my version did not come with the secret sheet though
