^ Greenie, for what it's worth, comes in an extremely lovely box with an insert and stand. Plenty lovely in hand, too. That said... yes, Bluie rules. Congrats, Joe!
The sculpt is just amazing to me - so much well-balanced detail packed into such a little guy. Pretty perfect. Did you change your name, Brent? You have me wondering if I've been hallucinating capital letters all this time.
^^ Thanks guys, i do like the red and silver sprays and the extra eye-detail on the blue. I think the sculpting shows better on the green version, so they both have their merits . . . .
With all 2heads now getting crazy expensive, i am happy that BM is still pricing theirs somewhat affordably. And what a quality daburasu and in black too ! If you enjoy unhyped and stress free scores, head over to toyful now Beats a 270,000yen yabanjin anyday, anytime in my books
That he is. This guy's adorable ugliness has always been so great. I really love the roughness Bearmodel accomplished with the entire sculpt, and his 'warts.' And the rainbow accents really set a nice tone. That face though... I feel ya, buddy!
^^ Better keep listening . . . there might be a bit about "Blessed are the Big Noses." Nice one Rei, Trunker is such a charmer. He has tons of character.
thanks! very worth the wait. the paint app is perfect. the messed up thing is that I thought I wrote that only a few months ago..
Man that thing is ugly as hell in the most beautiful way. I loved that movie when I was a kid, scared the piss out of me haha.
Agreed, I love the Bearmodel duo. Such wonderful sculpting of these fellas, and I have longed to add them to my other pairs of giants for years now. Great score on the Gaira!
^^ Thanks, Gents ! He's in great condition, and while I also desire to find the M1 version of the Gargantuas, there is just something about the Bearmodel duo that hits the right chord for me. I think the somewhat crude sculpt with slightly off dimensions ( left arm is a bit shorter than the right, for instance ) simple kaiju sprays, and vinyl color make for a win, win, win. I was lucky enough to find Gaira with bag, header, and omake. The omake is a mazer gun turret. Can I assume that if I'm lucky enough to find Sanda with bag, header, and omake, that it will contain the the other piece to make the tank ? ( oh please oh please oh please....) Ha ! Exactly right.
Cool score. I knew I couldn't be the only one that watches these movies while playing with their vinyl counterparts
Ooh, congrats! That is a tough one to track down. That Bearmodel crudeness works so well with the characters. Best of luck in finding a Sanda to complete the pair, but this guy is pretty darn nice on his own in the meantime.
I'm never sure which Bear Model thread to post in, they seem to have evolved into pretty much the same thread but in two different categories on the board. Hey-ho . . . i will post this here. These pages are from the 'World Hobby Festival' April 2000 Brochure. I was hoping for much more content on other toys but the whole publication is basically a big checklist of the makers at the festival. The pages are divided up and each maker obviously had the opportunity to add some information about themselves . . . . most just hand scribbled something so there isn't much to look at. I feel i overpaid a little because of this, but what the hell, these pages are cool and i will probably frame the brochure because the cover is nice. The actual pages are quite brown and the printing was way too dark, so i've enhanced them in photoshop. Share and Enjoy.
Just wonderful @The Moog!! I am so thrilled that you finally were able to land one of these, and it came in. Many, sincere, thanks for taking the time to scan this in and share it with the rest of us. What a delight it is. As I said before, it really is such a shame that the photos happened to be in B&W, though this is understandable of course for a simple festival booklet. But seeing a colour catalogue documenting all these wonderful toys is a real dream. I am sure you had a great time reading through the pages when you got it, and it is a very nice companion piece to have alongside your already very impressive Bearmodel collection.
