Haven’t gotten confirmation about mine hoping it’s soon. Seeing the pics of the folks who got theirs is gettin’ me pumped!

My MB just showed up in the mail and I am pleasantly surprised that I was sent the Japanese version, as opposed to the international mail-order version! The Mad Baron is super heavy and satisfying to hold in your hand. It stands very nicely, which I've heard was not the case with the sofubi version... I'm not worried about this guy tipping over easily thanks to his hefty weight. I am disappointed that the helmet is unfortunately not metal, but made of plastic.

Here are a couple quick iPhone shots:

Yup!! He shipped mine out last Friday and it somehow breezed through customs, which is not my usual EMS experience.

Got my shipping confirmation from Zollmen himself, can’t wait! The Mad Baron was one of the first toys I stumbled upon when I started collecting sofubi. Though it isn’t made from vinyl the sculpt itself looks just as amazing in the die-cast material, and as someone mentioned previously, fits the aesthetic of this sculpt. Congrats man!

Great doll. I thought it would be the same size as the plastic MB with some sculpt changes, but I like the smaller size much more. While the new shoulder pads make it a little less noodly in the arms than its big brother, I'm happy to report it's still bulbous and goofy-looking. Really everything I love about the MB but smaller, and it can actually stand up solidly.

My only worry is the weight--it's so heavy that a shelf dive is going to cause some damage, no question. I think if you can find one of these close to the original price, it's well worth having.

^^ I've just noticed ... if that's US Dollars on some of those, they seem quite expensive for retail?

For me to pay $1,200 for a toy train, it would have to be way fuckin' fancier than that!

I'd love to get one of those - in theory! But certainly price prohibitive.

Motorcycle Galtan is cool, too. But still too rich for me.

Yeah I’ve always wanted one of the train sets for my chibira shelf, but the price has kept it out of reach.

I’d love to have that giant Galtan set, but man, 2k is a lil bit rough. :(

$2k for a 1-meter tall toy seems reasonable when compared to what so many 8" toys cost these days. Don't get me wrong - I'm not dropping $2k on a toy, but inch for inch (or cm for cm)...kinda a deal.
But, what's the shipping cost? ;)

Price isnt that bad really but definitely not something i’m looking to do. Shipping will suck though. I just had a 30” toy shipped EMS from Japan for about $70. So atleast $100 or more i’d say.

£685 / $872 ... paint looks rough to me, the print is doing a lot of heavy lifting for that price.

Yes, the paint on the body looks pretty amateurish. Insane price for such a sloppy paint job..
