Hoping to generate more fun-ness on the Boards, it's so quiet! . Love to see some photos of what you're doing and/or seeing, while you are going about your day. Does not have to be toy related, just a fun way of sharing your day Observed while having lunch in a cafe (no pets allowed). HIGHLY doubtful that it was a "service dog" (at least in the conventional sense), as indicated on the harness. He kept barking when anyone passed him. Super cute, sprawling on the floor and snoring whilst sleeping on his tummy.
A gorgeous fall day at the beach... Tafoni or "honey comb weathering" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tafoni Alien gourds
I really like the idea of this thread. I’ll have to get out and about soon with my camera when my brain dictates I deserve it. I feel like this thread is the visual equivalent to the An Actual Sentence Spoken to Me Today thread.
OMG! There is more to life than just toys?! I was happy hiding in my little room of toys all these decades. Now I feel I must get out and see what the world has to offer. Grace, great idea for a fun thread. Awesome beach photos. I love the ocean. I was in Salem in September and October. The photos are from September. The Jonathan Corwin house, known as The Witch House. The only structure in Salem with direct ties to the Salem Witch trials of 1692. No photos were allowed inside the house. Witch Trials Memorial. The 20 stones represent each person that was executed in the 1692 Witch Trials. There names, date of death, and how they were executed are engraved in the stones. Sarah Good was one of the first three women to be accused of witchcraft in the 1692 Salem witch trials.
If you are ever in Salem visit the Emporium 32 for more unique shopping items. Most shops in Salem are tourist trap shops with the same items. And also visit the oldest candy company in the US, Ye Olde Pepper Companie!
The front facade of the apartment, someone had left a pair for jean shorts. This was a couple years ago but I like this pic. View this post on Instagram
I saw a cool reflection yesterday! The sun was bouncing off the building behind me onto the Federal Reserve, one of my favorite structures in rva.
Wow! Some great photos guys! It's also a great way of noticing the details you see everyday too! Anthony, the Emporium 32 and Jack-o'-lantern photos are amazing!
We were visiting in the plush Berkeley hills. Chase fat cat visits regularly for treats. Her elderly toothless little pig dogs go wild when they see him, and tries to gum the cat, but Chase seems to know they are harmless Nice art too Rainy trip back
Super cute! It's a California newt. If you are hiking in the Bay Area, you'll see a lot of them coming out of their hiding places, and gathered in great numbers by trailside puddles after heavy rain storms. Be careful though! They can secrete a potent neuro toxin through their skin, which can kill humans. I used to pick them up and play with them, until I found out they are quite poisonous! As long as you wash your hands right away, and have no open cuts, it seems to be ok. Read about these endemic Californian critters here, which special attention to the toxicity section https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_newt
I have the Japanese equivalent of that newt, it's 28 years old now. Have any of you in the Pacific Northwest come across any Pacific Giant Salamanders? I've always wanted to see one of those.
Really excellent photos, all. Massive props (and thanks) to each of you. And thank you especially to @Mr. Humphreys for kicking off this thread, what a great idea, and well needed.
Thank you Stevie! And thank you to everyone for sharing your day! I am really enjoying seeing what you guys/gals get up to when you are out and about. Please keep them coming in!
Today I was in Newport RI. They are having a 27th Annual Salem Scare Fest! Someone needs to tell them Halloween is over. Joking. Okay it's not a real festival. It is the film set for Hocus Pocus 2. Jane Pickens Film & Event Center changed for the filming. This was a parking lot, now it's a shop for the film. This made up banners are all over the streets. Wish I can take one home with me.
