I'm trying to following the bouncing ball here but it seems to be one of those 25c Hi-Bounce crazy balls.. how can a pre-order be anything but a straight-forward pre-order? I'm hulking up here just thinking about how ridiculous a 'pre-order lottery' is... the rage could also be due to the fact I've come into work this morning with half a week's work off-loaded onto my desk to be done by the end of the day. Next thing we know MVH will be running 'pre-order shop-drop instagram re-post lottery 2nd pre-order' sales out of that circus tent of his..
This has always been zollmens selling method and many others. It simply means they are making a limited amount, say 50 pieces, they will go to lotto if they receive more than 50 entries.
From my experience, many Japanese "lotteries" appear to be first come, first served, Zollmen being one of the companies that very much furthered my belief. At 2k for a "toy" a "pre-order lottery" might also be used to gauge interest and produce accordingly, in order to not end up sitting on a heap of Jumbo Barons that nobody but the Asian nouveau riche can afford... Did anyone here actually enter this..??
I don't get why people are getting all bent outta shape about this particular entry. (Especially as this is the DB thread, though that is neither here nor there). This is no different than so many other makers, and as has been stated here, is completely status quo for Zollmen. Like so many of the more 'exclusive' brands, these are in demand toys. People don't even blink with other makers, and 'art toys.' The difference here is that you are getting one heck of a hunk of vinyl. I mean, as with everything, if the price isn't for you then you don't enter, it isn't exactly rocket science. Those who can and want to, who are other people to say they shouldn't? At least this is money going directly to the sale, rather than some shifty after-market practice. Don't get me wrong, this is pricey as anything [and far beyond my game] but just because these aren't being released through some uber-exclusive event or auction, doesn't mean that they should be painted with a different brush. And, if you take nothing else away from this post, that is one amazing toy.
Calling it a 'lottery' sounds like a hype tactic to encourage the 'speculators'. If dude gets 100 pre-orders for a $2k toy he's a dumbass if he makes any less! Unfortunately he won't be getting any of my cash . . . the hookers and heroin took priority!
Remember when toys were cheaper than hookers and heroin? Those were the good ol days. It’s nice to see OMO back up and running, but it’s a shame I’m more than likely priced out of future releases.
Hopefully the future releases under two feet tall won't cost nearly as much, but I am a little worried about keeping up after seeing this one. Good luck to all who entered though that's more than twice the usual amount of Mad Baron to dive off your shelf one day, so you'll need it!

Fair point @analog101 - it's pretty much two dickheads butting heads so I see how it comes across. So I'm just going to block Rich from this point to avoid any more shit-flinging.
