@animator When I initially began to have a more honed in focus, I thought it would help a bunch with not having so much. We can see how well that worked out. But I’m definitely not mad about it!

@ARB Zombie Machine is pretty rad. I’m surprised more collectors aren’t into it! Or at least, I don’t see it get talked about too much. Reminds me of an undead Curricula Machine.

 

Gifted to me by a very good, kindhearted and generous friend, my first Mummy/Pumpkin Boys. @chimmychazz is right: this is a pretty great mascot toy, and I wish there were overall more mascot toys in sofubi.

This very played with, dirty, scuffed, and written upon Bullmark Takkong came up on Yahoo Auctions for around $75 and so I grabbed it. Takkong holds a really special place in my heart because in 1973 when my dad came back from a 6 month trip to Japan, he brought me back, yep you guessed it, a Bullmark Takkong (and some Lion Maru manga and books) and it was my first sofubi kaiju. It completely flipped my lid, and started me on the path of just liking Ultraman to being fucking mesmerized by the toys. My original Takkong is long gone, and I've always wanted one to replace it. A friend of mine pointed this one out to me and I grabbed it. It really feels great to have this beauty in my hands again, even if it isn't in pristine shape. But honestly since it's obviously been played with and made some kid happy, that's even better to me.

 

I thought i'd bought some small Bandai finger puppets. Imagine my nerdy delight why i realised i actually bought some nicely produced bootleg 5" squeakers. That was a welcome surprise!

 

Got this incredible marbled Goji from Rampage toys the other day. So nice in hand, the textures on this guy are phenomenal.

 

Technically I got this at a show but I am totally gonna break the rules here for this one cause it's so awesome

Then you would love Deadly Prey Gallery. They are based out of Chicago and they do a rolling roadshow of Ghanian movie posters. Brian is super cool: they have hundreds of posters and can even do commissions very affordably. They just put out a book of posters but it already sold out

@kid_miracleman - Those posters are nothing short of amazing. I also enjoy Indonesian and Thai film posters, especially for horror, but these Ghanian posters are on a whole other level.

Not from the mail, but from the JANM Kaiju Con that happened this past weekend. I was able to get the 2 things I was hoping for!

Marusan 450 size Jirass purple frill edition! Marusan wasn't able to bring any Godzilla figures due to licensing for this show, but Jirass was a convenient loophole item. There was also a clear blue frill/backfin edition available.

Also something I've been wanting since I was a kid! A man was there selling his childhood collection and they were all in pretty good condition! He bought this and many other figures when he was a kid while his father was stationed in Japan. It's a vintage Bullmark Twintail! I've loved this guy since I was a wee lad but never saw one for sale in California. Finding this guy in decent shape with both of his tails intact was a no-brainer to buy!

I started toy collecting with Squadts, but mine are long gone. When I saw this for sale, I thought I must have a toy among my sofubi collection that's a perfect fit.
