Yep, the forum just underwent the facelift to the new format a few weeks ago - with massive thanks to the incredible efforts of our resident mod and board guru @TiredChildren (this was really all his bag) - so we are all still getting used to its nuances, no worries. You will find a lot of interesting new additions and capabilities as you dig in I am sure. And welcome back!

Welcome back mate. I have the other book called 'Art In Time' by the same author . . . . its a great book just packed with obscure, wonderful stuff. Thanks for reminding me about its companion book, I still need to track it down . . . .

Thanks! Good to be back (and collecting again!) I didn't know there'd been a companion made. It looks really good as well. I had borrowed the first one from my library (my library was pretty awesome), so I didn't get around to reading all the stuff in it, but what I do remember reading was great.
I've only made like 3 posts so far, and this is easily the best forum software I've experienced in my time on the internet. I was a little worried before logging in that my account might've been jettisoned, though. Awesome job, @TiredChildren.

Kingboy those are excellent to say the least! I love how Medicom does go the extra step on repros but worth every penny. Boxed no less- never saw an original boxed so I did not know. Nice touch, any artwork on the top of the box? So what is the thread for?

EDIT: Wait clicked on the link to see the box art.

The enclosed string can be threaded through the figure's back and allows them to "fly" along the string.
See box top in the last picture where Marsman is "flying".

Maybe if I can pick up some dups at bargain prices, I can have some permanently displayed in a flying position.

@treblekicker It never occurred to me before, but those look like they might be hard to get to stand (well, particularly on the ground outside). I mean, I've sometimes had trouble keeping less top-heavy stuff upright.

yup, he's leaning against the fungus in that shot. i imagine i'll have to use some museum putty to get him to stand on display, though balance is possible.

That's what I suspected. The other pics I've seen of these guys, they seem to be standing OK, but their leg stance appears to be a little wider than this guy's. I think they're great and would definitely consider getting one if I found a variant I liked, but I hate to feel like I'm playing Jenga trying to getting something to stand. Did not know museum putty was a thing, though. The package graphics are a hoot (or maybe I'm just easily amused).

Very cool!!! I've always wanted a ree, especially the mixed parts or the full pink.
Glad I got to hear about this museum putty, I'm definitely buying some lol.

^ Nice! I don't own any PKs yet, but I'd like to get some, especially this one. Such a fun figure.

The vintage ones came boxed in a window-box. See here.

I was going to share this SeaCaptain, because I was talking elsewhere on the forum about how the post nearly lost it, and I thought I'd throw in a few other recent highlights (can you tell I like green? it's not all this green, I swear). I'm totally smitten with the Tokoji Seijin. Easily one of my favorite pieces. Couldn't even say why.

^^ Best in Show, for me, was the avocado green lumpy egg proto, but Gunboy certainly hold his place in the contention for best toy of 1978 2015. Fat congrats on the score, my friend. I know how hard you've been hunting for one.

Fudge!!! That is incredibly intense, Brent. So very happy for you. I know very well the pain of trying for these, and can imagine your joy. Argh, my hunt continues for one of these guys (and the whole set, eventually). Long time Gundam nut, and those figures were some of the hardest ever to miss out on, which, in the line of what OMB has put out - is a pretty incredible statement, and puts them high in the running for top toys ever. Congrats man, very well hunted! I look forward to seeing some pics of him in your collection.

@foto junkaay Hi Kay!!! :D Egads! I haven't forgotten! I was suddenly pounced upon by the office manager and got appointed director of our office move (it's pretty much a glorified title for "do this or else! :x"). We move in less than 3 weeks, and they suddenly figured out they need to "elect" a coordinator, so I'm "it". It's been crazy, so no time for play. I won't forget!

As a hint, it literally is an instant collection...
