Hahaha. I owned this Chaos once upon a time maybe 6-7 years ago. There is a red/pink Akro Kaiser that goes along with it. These were done by a French artist I believe, or French-Canadian maybe 10 years ago. I loved these, and if times hadn’t been tough, I’d still have them.

 

I really love that paint job, just maybe not on an RH Chaos Seems like more of a thing to put on a “cute” sculpt imo

I love what you do for this thread @The Moog . But you need to name names!

 

Oh my god, this thing. Saw it on Facebook and just sat in shock. My mom asks “Maddie, what are you looking at?” because of my facial expression, and I reply something like “It’s a toy, and I’m in utter awe of how someone could ruin one this badly.”
Because seriously, how on earth could someone think “you know, I think a Bone Usir needs some fuckin matte fuchsia.”

And there’s almost no reason to name and shame anymore, recently 70% of these awful customs are the same fucking toy ruiner. He’s trying desperately to sell his “one off customs” in every sofubi buy/sell group right now.

 

This just makes me sad.

 

Bone Usir is pretty much “one of my favorite toys I’ll never have.”
This “custom” legitimately makes me mad.

 

I would like to get into the brain of some of the custom painters and see what their process is. For many of them, it seems random. Sometimes they roll the dice and make something nice. Sometimes it’s a colorblind hodge-podge.

 

sometimes, homages don’t work, and you should try something else...like a whole other hobby...

Presumably the T stands for 'Toy Ruiner'. I've noticed on Facebook that 'Customs' and 'One-offs' hold a very strong cachet with the majority of collectors. People are quick to point out their toy is 'Custom', no matter how gaudy the paint job, they are very proud of their ruined toy (and people are quick to praise it). I'm often stunned and disappointed in what people 'Like', so I'm obviously very out of touch with the current popularity of hiring paint fuckers to fuck your toy.

It seems the paintwork applied by the original toy maker is automatically viewed as inferior compared to any 'Custom' inflicted upon the toy in the future.

Here's another classic, add this piece of shit to the mounting pile ...

IMO even if a toy is an unpainted blank, it will always look better like that than the way it looks after one of the paint fuckers gets their paws on it.
