The rule threads for the market place seem to have come unstuck. Is this because there is no longer an Announcements sub-heading?

Nice catch, David. Yes, please to restore it if we can. It is an unfortunate fact that we need to have these 'stickies' everywhere for some of the basics, but I do hope that at least with them present they could be read; and at the very least no one should be able to plead ignorance.

You know what's annoying? The new drop down log in thing! Used to be (on the old site) I could autofill my name and password and Safari remembered it so I did not have to type it in every time I came to SB. No longer. Even if I pick 'remember this password' I still have to type it in. See I usually just stay logged in but I'm very dilligent about doing a weekly cookies/cache clean for maximum speed on my computer. Nothing pisses me off more than a slow bogged down computer. So when I do this I have to constantly type in my name an password where as on the old site even after a cache clean it still remembered my name an password. Minor I know but really annoying.

@Lixx Hmm.. You shouldn't have to be doing that. Usually your browser should auto-fill that in for you (mine does here). I would guess that's probably more of a browser issue than a forum issue. You could maybe change your password to see if then when you get the prompt from your browser to remember it, it works? Worth a shot. Otherwise you'll probably need to just Google or go to you browser's help forums

OK, so, as I've said, this new forum software is the greatest thing since sliced fingers. But. There's something that's been nagging at me and I thought it was pretty minor, but it's kind of a pain. So, I think most forums I've used will put the thread title above each post, which this one doesn't do. So if you don't know what thread you're in, you have to scroll all the way up top to find out and then back down again to comment.

Maybe you're wondering how I could possibly not know what thread I'm in? I usually go down the forum and open all the topics I'm interested in and then cycle through the tabs in whatever order they were opened. I almost always open a thread to 'last post' to prevent unnecessary scrolling and a lot of the time it's just not readily apparent what topic I'm in. I'm not sure if this has more to do with the nature of this forum or me personally, but it's kind of a thing for me.

I think this is probably not an option that wasn't chosen here and is likely just something XenForo overlooked, but for such great software, I'm surprised they missed it (XenForo was created by the former lead developers for vBulletin, which does use that feature, so not sure why they would've changed that).

I dig the new site. One suggestion: it'd be cool if when you clicked a sales thread it started you on page 1 -- instead of the last page.

    Added the rules back in.

This is a Safari issue I believe. Chrome lets me autofill, and Safari on my iPhone does as well. I'm looking into it because it's annoying to me too.

    Done. ✓

If you click on the date that is listed directly under a thread title (not the one on the right side that is for the most recent post), it'll take you to the first post of that thread.

Great changes, James! The site is really getting smoother with each passing day, and I think we are all getting used to it. I don't know if I asked this before, but is there a reason why the tagging is only effective [for notifications, that is] when first posting? i.e. no notifications are sent out if you make a mistake and edit the tag properly after the post is made.

example: I made this tag doing an edit, @TiredChildren

Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to do anything about that Steve. That's just how the system works, something I don't have control over.

Oh yeah, that is what I figures James. I kind of interpreted it to be a part of the core software connected to the tagging. It is totally not a big deal (only really useful for idiots like me who type out people's names with their keyboard mashing fingers, and have egregious spelling mistakes constantly  - ah, if only I had the foresight to use the very handy pop-up window as intended)

Holy crap! Sweet. James for President? I think so! The man knows how to get things done!

Just throwing my 2 cents in. At first I didn't think we needed an upgrade but I'm pleasantly surprised with all the little added features which make me feel like checking the SB more frequently again. Following people, Liking posts and Status updates are all winners for me. Great work to whoever was involved.

I believe that all of the credit is do to James, James, James and, to a lesser extent, James.

Anyone know if James should get all the credit for this? ;)

All of the credit should go to the programmers over at XenForo, and to the small council of advisers from the SB trenches. James' function in the project was mostly that of a button pusher, and, I should add, a reluctant one at that.

    Better?

Thanks James I figured as much. At first I thought it was just this site but then I noticed it on Soundcloud as well. Probably over zealous security measures on Safari. I'd love to know a fix to lose the elastic scrolling as well. Stupid Apple can't do anything right anymore. They're new slogan should be: "Fucking things up since 2011 when that guy Jobs died!"

Looks like somehow you used the [insta] and [MEDIA=instagram] tags together. For the [insta] tag, it should look something like this:

    Code:
    [insta]BHcnGJxjzWH[/insta]

    @TiredChildren @Patrickg2k
The IG code only seems to want to behave in this first instance:
    Code:
    [INSTA]BHv9CPHg6oZ[/INSTA]

The rigging you did for... Blake? appears to be glitchly:

@Patrickg2k @toothaction Yeah, if you try to use the [insta] tag with a full Instagram URL, you're going to get errors.

Got it, @TiredChildren. I believe that I misunderstood the resolution to this thread chat.

@Lixx I think that was a happy accident that resulted from some changes to the Members section. Glad it helped!
