Man there's some great TV out there atm... seems more and more like cinemas have become the new comic book shops and our televisions are the new cinemas. Who has taken the time to ingest all ten episodes of this yet?

Gotta say that there were elements of this I liked but overall it was a failure for me. It was an interesting spectacle of a failure but one nonetheless. Amazon refuses to even advertise this show on their service now it must have brought them some form of shame haha. I thought after Twin Peaks: The Return we wouldn't get to see such strange and unformulated TV in a while and I was certainly wrong. This show kind of wore the influence of The Return on it's sleeve and I have to commend it for having such a singular vision. But....why.....did...everyone....always...talk....like.....this.....for......so....long......?

Ever since Drive, Refn's career trajectory seems to be making his stuff as nihilistically edgy as possible alongside his trademark neon lighting. I mean I enjoy some of it what it is but when the man first started making films in his home country he wrote scripts that were well nuanced and human. Now I feel like he's a different person. Someone who is much more retarded.

Anyways, Refn is going to be featured in the upcoming Death Stranding game which still nobody has a fucking clue what it's about but looks amazing:

Loved it! Different strokes for different folks, but a lot of the clothing was supplied by Eastman Leather Clothing (www.eastmanleather.com). Their stuff is kinda pricey but the quality of reproduction is stunning. If you have any interest in WWII/USAAF clothing, their catalogue is a gem!

Back on track and too lazy to check back if its already been mentioned . . . Despite the token Brit hardass with the bad accent, 4 episodes in, I'm digging its cynical reaction to superhero's of the Marvel world . . .

I watched S01/02 of Narcos and enjoyed them a lot but i skipped S03 recently and started watching Narcos: Mexico because it sounded more intriguing. It stars Diego Luna who's most famous for being in Rogue One, but I remember him most for playing young hired hand 'Button' in Open Range. It co-stars Michael Peña, who I would say is best known for being in the films 'Crash' and 'End of Watch' who's also a good actor. Anyway, I'm four episodes in and the stand-alone Narcos: Mexico version of the show is really good. If you haven't seen any Narcos, check it out.

    ^^^ I concur!

Season 3 was a neat way to wrap up the post-Escobar days and ended with a nice segway into the Mexico series.

I’m very, very excited for Mindhunter season 2. Such a massive cliffhanger at the end of season 1. The serial killer portrayals are eerily close to the source material.

I’m just about finishing up The Act on Hulu. Something of a seven part crime series based on a real event. Pretty wild ride so far.

I’m also pretty excited about Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus. I read Jhonen’s “Johnny the Homicidal Maniac” when I was maybe 14 or 15? So Invader Zim was a total shoe - in for me, and I’ve been a fan since. Even met Jhonen once on accident at SDCC 2014. :D

The bookendng tracks in the first episode of the new season of Mindhunter were spectacular; Roxy Music and Talking heads at their most ominous. Sandwiched inbetween them was my favorite hour of television in a good while. Eight more to go and I mean to make them last.

The act was pretty good. Shows how much i pay attention to what’s going on in the world, i never knew this happened. And i was all over the Casey Anthony thing, and apparently this falls in the same timeline. I’ve been off the grid cable/state lite wise for about 3 years now and only stream. I’m never in the know about local things happening in the news for the most part anymore. Which i don’t like? But st the same time, it’s comforting not hearing sad shit literally every day. There’s always some shooting or something depressing on the news.

@eckotyper Dude, same here! I had absolutely no idea this happened at all until Amy at Lulubell told me to watch it! There’s even a post series documentary by HBO(I think) on the real Gypsy Rose! I’ve also been strictly streaming for some time now, though I do have some shows I keep up with cable wise via their websites and apps. I definitely don’t miss keeping up on daily happenings in tragedy on TV.

Anyone notice how obvious the friggin make up on the actors faceswas in Mindhunter Season 2? Real amateur hour when David Fincher wasn’t around.

It was a good season but I prefer the first one. Whilst 1 had it’s own cases Tench and Ford had a hand in solving, neither were as time consuming as the one which took place in this season. Berkowitz was well cast but I felt that Manson’s inclusion was contrived as he was written to be an interlocutor towards Ford, resonating with Ford’s personal experiences at the time.

I’d like to discuss the show jumping the shark when more of you have wrapped it up but will remain quiet for now.

we've enjoyed it thus far but haven't finished S2 as of yet. Bill Tench' storyline with his child seems pretty intense, and i was not ready for that.

Fun Fact: back in 2006-2008, I used to work with Cameron Britton at a clinic for developmentally disabled kids. He worked in the early intervention area with kids age 0-3, and they all loved him!

Mindhunter S2 was "killer".. you get it? Ya got it??? Because it is about killing. And the people who do the killing. Otherwise known as serial killers. When they stop the people BREATHINGGG. Ok just testing out some standup material here.

Anyway, I really enjoyed it.. although I found myself fast forwarding the lesbian relationship scenes, I didn't see how they added much of any value to the overall storyline of the show. I've never had any interest in serial killers but now I'm finding myself looking for documentaries.. downloading Kemper on Kemper now. Anybody got any good suggestions along those lines?

Once you've exhausted the multitude of by-the-numbers talking heads docs out there, you might want to have a look at Cropsey and The Town That Dreaded Sundown. Non traditional and very interesting. There's an episode of Errol Morris' First Person about Sondra London that's pretty great, too.
