I stopped following internet abbreviations after YOLO. I'm glad that's not a real thing that was just going over my head.
Ooooookay. Trying hard not to be judgey here, @vapdee, but be you troll, your village's shaman or just in need of a refill, this negative spamming needs to stop. This forum will grow, decay and rise again, then grow, decay and rise again with or without your insights. Decide if you want to ride the rails to the next town or actually stop and try to figure out the customs of the spot you're in, makes no matter to me. Locked. Sorry, @eckotyper. EDIT: Forgot me a word in the first sentence.
It's about time we can get back to what's important in life, bashing social media and the culture it pervades.
What is with the #fuckflippers thing all over instagram the last few days? Looks like it's coming mostly from Izumonster collectors.
Most of them are either flippers themselves, or have adamantly supported flippers to get their shelves filled for those IG double taps. I can seriously only hope that Izumo pays attention to that sort of thing and secretly has these dweebs blacklisted.
The whole #fuckflippers thing seems a bit ironic... I like BGT but this particular exercise has turned me off a bit. Every time I see someone, especially a maker, bring attention to how much dislike they have for flippers it always translates as "Hey look at me! My toys are being flipped! I have made it!!". The best example was when PlanetxAsia/Vintage Vinyl Club (?) created a facebook folder of all of the overpriced Mandarake listings of their own toys a few months back
Glad others are seeing behind the bullshit . . . and surprised to be agreeing with both! Don't believe the hype!
I don't even search the #sofubi tag on IG anymore, it's all hype toys that will be yesterday's news in a few months... or just ugly shit.
Never have . . . just a foible of the lame 'Explore' algorithm. Tattoos, motorcycles and semi-nekkid ladies get no complaints . . . but when pictures of MVH show up I have to hit refresh!
Man, One of Izus main collaborators is one of the biggest flippers in Asia, he runs secret flipping lists and sends herds of henchmen to events so he can buy stuff to resale. I would really hope he isn't clueless about that. I appreciate the sentiment, but if you condemn one you have to condemn all.
Thats crazy that they even go through all that elaborate bullshit in the first place to even get the toys!
When toys are immediately hitting x10 resale value they become commodities . . . especially if you have little emotional investment in them.
A few days ago I was talking about that with another member of the board, I commented that certain figures have entered the commodity range and that I felt that with some of the figures it seemed to me that a speculative bubble was forming and I asked him when will this bubble burst...
