Eastern PA, about an hour north of Philadelphia. I've always called it Mint Chocolate Chip, as has pretty much everyone else that I've ever heard talk about it, but it certainly could be regional.

I always assumed it was because there is also regular/vanilla chocolate chip ice cream, so you say the mint first here to differentiate.

Or Checkers vs. Rallys.

 

or Hardees vs Carl's Jr.

 

That's different though. They have different menu items.

Really? I thought they were pretty much the same. I think I always liked Hardees better though!

 

I do believe there are some differences. And you'll never see a Hardess with a Green Burrito in it (I wish!).
