I've always called it Mint Chocolate Chip, as has pretty much everyone else that I've ever heard talk about it, but it certainly could be regional. I always assumed it was because there is also regular/vanilla chocolate chip ice cream, so you say the mint first here to differentiate.
Now lets argue the differences between Caramel DeLites vs. Samoas and Peanut Butter Patties vs. Tagalongs. Or Dunkin Donuts Kreme donuts vs. Dunkin Donuts Manager's Special. Or Checkers vs. Rallys.
I do believe there are some differences. And you'll never see a Hardess with a Green Burrito in it (I wish!). I'm a Carl's Jr. man myself.
