I forget the name exactly but there's an M1-GO 1974 (?) goji that is my favorite. I know it's prolly some reissue. I just love how much it's equal parts fierce and cute and it looks amazing with or without paint. Just love it.
Y-MSF is the maker. This Marmit Giant Burning Godzilla is one of my favorites. A lot of stuff goes in and out of my display case to make room for others. This is one of the few that have always been in the case for show.
Love that Y-MSF guy, @rattanicus! Normally, unpainted wouldn't be my first choice, but that is such a glorious sculpt and it really shows off the wonderful detail. The bright pick is amazing, and I think works really well with this figure. I particularly like how he has a much more 'action' pose than most standard Gojis. @gatiio Superb choice, if I might say. He is indeed a Megaro-Goji, and a Yuji original sculpt. Still a favourite for me among both M1 and Godzilla toys, which is keeping it in pretty good company. Really wonderful colours on that museum version too. Very impressed; great pickup man!
The truth is I am not an expert in these standard figures and the little I know about the subject I have read in one of the publications of Super 7 or for the comments of some members. I think it's more common for Marusan's Gojis to tend to have more silver spray on their body than the Bullmark. That the Marusan were produced in the period (1966-1969) and the Bullmark in (1970-1975) so the Bullmark figures are more common, except for the Hawaiian versions. I still can not differentiate well the tail segments, maybe @deafmetal Mark can help me with that, because in general he knows more of these figures than I do. It may not be seen well in the photo, but the fin of the back has a spray of a greenish metallic color. Forgive my excessive enthusiasm but it is one of the figures that I have enjoyed the most.
What's to forgive? You've found yourself fixated on the center of the universe, one of the first meteoric fragments from the Soft Bang that gave birth to us all. You should, by rights, have already painted His visage on a large, hand-held sign, and be spending long stretches of your formerly empty days preaching His virtues to all within earshot. Or, y'know, talking freely about the doll on a message board.
@Alebrije - Roger, congrats on adopting such a wonderful Bullmark Gojira. It's a real beauty, and I especially like the contrast of all the solid silver spray with the metallic coloring on the spine. I have only seen one other example with the greenish spray. It looks like a very happy ending for your story of all the troubles obtaining it. As for the tail, it looks like a "tail C" version from the Super7 reference. I also really enjoy that you have updated this thread with your new favorite Godzilla. The thread is such a fun read, and I have reread it all quite a few times. I have a hard time deciding a favorite though!
Many thanks Mark for your comments, I also thought in the C tail but I still had my doubts, the color of the vinyl I think I still have not found the precise pantone. The truth is that when I had it in hand I liked it even more, I do not know if it was for all I had to go through to have it at home that made me appreciate it even more. It is interesting that you mention the metallic green color of the spine, because although I do not have much experience in this subject, I had noticed that most have a strong blue or metallic blue in the spine. So it could be said that this metallic green color of the spine is not so common in the figures made by Bullmark? I think what I like most about these figures is that they are in a some way unique, because they all have variations in the color of the vinyl or in the paint job. Thak you @toothaction, @Herr Graves for your kind words, I really appreciate you taking the time to write.
This HAS to be everyone's favorite vintage Godzilla toy right? Even though everyone's classic Godzilla toys on here kick this ones design to the curb lol.
I recently saw the Godzilla Shin that Medicom and Marmit took out for this last WF, which has its mouth open as in the GIF and it looks very interesting.
