No, she owns a toy I designed and had made that some designer arsehole in the UK signed at a toy show in London...probably while trying to get in her pants.

No one from what I call the "mediocre world" who comes to my house ever mentions the toys....ever. Not even when there were 3-4000 Transformers in every part of the house. It was like they just didn't want to notice them at all, a dead spot in their brain.
Now with all the sofubi and non mainstream toys even the guys I know who are into toys who come over don't get it because they don't recognise any of it except maybe godzilla.
Some of them want to help expand my A.O.I. universe but they're all SW and TF guys and mainstream toy dudes can not wrap their heads around japanese vinyl at all. It eats their melons.

You know what's so funny about this don't you? Well, especially in my heyday, but it's DEFINITELY still going on; SOOOO many cartoons, comics, commercials, cereals, etc. (why did I just pick all things starting with a "C" is totally random) were all based around one specific product - TOYS! So you'd think that they should be the alpha of those thoughts. Of course this didn't originally apply to franchises like Star Wars... Ha, but you're right, some don't get it w'out a connection they recognize... I tend to say something along the lines of, "It's just another art medium.", and because I usually don't get a response back, that tends to end the topic. See, if they could talk of or think of objects in the way of being "art", most wouldn't have asked the question in the first place. And I've noticed that a lot of times, that someone w' absolutely no knowledge of art (or no comprehension on any subject) definitely don't want to feel like idiots out loud.

I always end up saying "it's just some weird shit I like" and that makes enough sense if you're my friend.

(looking at the 7 Rainbow Hedorah by Marusan) "are those wax candles ?"
I think I should have answered that they were really dripping as hell

"I like the colors on this one"
    That is satisfactory enough...

and the "you buy them to sell them more in a few years aren't you" is a classical...
