I don't complain about Elegab, because I honestly have never even been in that thread. The toys don't fancy me, so I stay away from it?
Congrats ! Does anybody know how big this run is going to be? Maybe everyone that won could post on here so we can get an approximate figure !?
Late to the party, but clearly part of the 'Unwritten rules' . . . Seems like basic common sense to avoid generating ANY interest in a lottery you are interested in, and only courteous to not do it for most of the other hot wannabe sh*t too!
Anyone else won the lottery? I wrote an email to Utsugiyo asking for the quantities being produced but he answered that he could not tell me. I think i've seen around 7 winners on IG.......
I wish people would stop asking how many were in a run or how many were produced. if the artist wanted you to know, they would have posted that information. Besides the price, this toy is amazing. Id love to see pics of all the ways in which the head can turn.
^^ agreed and yawn. If there were 10 made. cool. If 1000 made cool. Who cares. The toy is really well detailed and expensive. It's like 2007 all over again. Other than that who cares
I'm guessing everybody who entered/could afford to enter this lottery ended up winning.. makes sense when he didn't reveal the edition size upfront (which he has done before) and the slight delay in delivery time after the lotto closed. Why announce an edition of 10 figures for sale at $1000 each and get 15 entries when you can just basically do a pre-order masked as a lottery and not lose out on selling pieces for such a hefty price tag??
I get the whole "Every artist should sell their art for what they want and if you don't like it welp too bad" angle, but this is getting ridiculous. If a toymaker very suddenly decides to charge absurd prices these days, it's obviously due to the fact that others have been getting away with it. Which is why one should ask themselves if they're investing in a fine art piece or just getting fleeced over a toy when dropping almost a grand; especially with a market this flooded and tons of awesome toys sitting at below retail in the BST for months - to each their own.
Well I entered and didn't win the lottery. Which is probably for the best, I'm not sure if I could have afforded it. But I can say if this was part of a run over 50 I would have been annoyed at paying so much
I'm a huge, huge fan of Utsugiyo's work, and some of my favorite toys in my entire collection come from this brand. With money being extra tight for the last few months, I'm sad to say that I just couldn't swing the price without having to resort to selling some things, so I sat this one out -- A toy or a month's rent? Congratulations to those who won! If the previously released two-headed dragon is anything to go by, they won't be disappointed in the least. The care and attention to detail put into these larger Utsugiyo sculpts is just off the charts.
I don't mind with the edition. Love the sculpt, paint, packaging and everything. Not winning any lottery lately, so don't mind to pay the price. Price is not for everyone but utsugiyo deserve this. I can see his effort on his toy, so much details, parts and the paint is just insane.
Ditto, and although Utsugiyo's latest works are as remarkable as ever (I especially like the double headed dragon & think it's one of the better 2 headed sofvi toys of the last few years), I hope that the move in this higher-end direction isn't a permanent one. Otherwise it's either no more Utsugiyo for me or only Utsugiyo for me (cause it'd eat up all of my toy budget + some). Just hoping this isn't where Utsugiyo thinks it's found its niche, cause it kinda feels that way, doesn't it? Still, Congratulations to all you skullbrains who won and Congratulations for being able to afford it. I look forward to seeing pictures.
It's been silent in this thread but that new toy is so great. The packaging and everything about it. Congrats to the winners.
Utsugiyo is certainly doing his own thing with some refreshing designs. His attention to detail on this release is pretty amazing. I love that the Beshimi really doesn't look or feel like anything else out there right now. ^The feet are metal on the wind-up head as well.
Has anybody ever had any luck contacting this/these guy(s)? Sent an email last week, and still haven't heard back...
