used my extra paint from a project for this, did it for fun mostly. im really stoked on how it came out...lemme know what you think, gid head, chest, and scraped knee, -Grizlli Atom
i dunno i got him at the comicon across from toytokyo, i had extra acrylic and thought hed be fun to paint...he was.
LOL... I think the guy selling them was originally hyping them up that he was gonna sell out of these things like over 18 months ago...
they were an insanely hi run i know that much, thousands + or something of the sort. i was actually suprised to find out these guys are solid gid vinyl theres so muc paint youd never know head to toe gid lurks underneath, once i started stripping this guy i was almost tempted to keep it just gid, but the emo chollo poser bunk robo called out to me
Yeah, I bought one of these too at NYCC, he was selling them for like 25 bucks there. I think he told me, he had like 500 or around that produced, then he lost like one hundred of them on the shipping back. Instead of painting them all up in the same color way, he should have released a bunch of different smaller color runs... oh well. Anyway, it is glow vinyl, why you would paint completely over glow vinyl baffles me, but I've thought about stripping mine too.
yeah i know he carved it out of baked clay so it has a real chipped away look to the sculpt, its sorta cool actually. the idea of these in resin sounds a lil better then the vinyl even, BUT im a whore for resin casts so im byass
What did it look like before you painted it? Was it just green? I've been really confused by this tobor thing.
Is it evil that I find it amusing that he still has some of his "edition of 50" pieces left after like a year and a half?
Didja know that there was actually a Tobor toy in the 70s? http://www.plaidstallions.com/true78/electronics.html I feel like I've also seen a toy or robot design that looks very, very similar to this Tobor toy, in particular, the arms. Can anyone remember what this is?
Oh man....I HAD that TOBOR when I was a kid. This guys design looks like a little wind up robot with a clear domed head I had back in the day.
