just checked the release page, it didn't say---just the date. Or does it? http://gargamel.jp/newsrelease/2009s.html
I want that zag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!gaz taht tnaw I!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and that thrashman.
Fullshot. Anyway...a few questions...What is the meaning behind those "game" shirts? And also what are the kanegon/gomess tributes that maxaltoman was referring too?
@bryce- the full size Zag references the Bullmark Kanegon colors (more or less); the crouching mini references Bullmark Gomess.
according to koji, the GAME shirt is basically them just dropping the GAR and L off GARGAMEL and you're left with GAME. And there is an arcade that uses that same lettering style. now can someone help me out with that thrashman and smoking corps?
im just going to hope that the buta thrash, smoking corps, and zag make it to S7 and other retailers. but, can anyone help me get a mini resin thrashman? couldn't get one at sdcc. they put a picture of them under the fullshot, so it looks like they'll have those also.
Scott's dead on. The back of the shirt says gargamel on the bottom witht the other letters matching the shirt color.
The little resins are really fantastic. I posted some close up pics of my set in the gargamel sdcc thread if you want to see them in more detail.
I think that's my absolute favorite full size Zag, besides the older lucky bag version with guts. Might have to try and make it my first.
Yep, that's a really solid sign-up of figures. Smokin' Corps. is back! Hopefully if the resurrection sticks gargamel might grace us with a new sculpt for the line. The T and that butanohana thrashman are musts for me. I still prefer the sdcc release for the tokoichi with his red eye, though the new homage colorway is nice.
4th anniversary, I remember most of the toys being offered in the states, but not the standard Zag. Anyone confirm this?
That is a really cool retro sign on that arcade, Koji. I guess it is in Tokyo? Btw, I also thought that the GAME was a play on GArgaMEl. I thought the letters were too small to be seen in a photo.
I've got a guy building me a full size multi-player console for the shop and it will have Mr. Do and Mr. Do's Castle on it as well as all the Donkey Kongs (about 30-35 games). I want to get a bunch of logos on the side of it (paging S7, Gargamel, and Mishka). I'll post pics when it's done. Back to the TO Anniv.
Koji, Your Invader Tokoichi is absolutely amazing. Reminds of the time I passed on the figure it was based on as a kid. So I see it as sort of a second chance in life, if I can get one.
