These are just Amazing! Thanks for sharing. I am waiting for my first 2 to come in the mail… hopefully soon . I didn't really need a new thing to collect, but how could you not!
Here is some tigermask ref - all the Nakajima sizes and a Masudaya version which is a bit smaller than the Nakajima standard
What a weird, but cute, bootleg. Not something I have seen a lot of. Very crude looking but great, even for a boot. I am guessing it was on the 'cheaper' end of toys. I find him incredibly enticing personally, and would love one. Did it end at a high value? I really like the idea of re-using the kewpie bodies like they did; I'd love to see a whole series of friends to go with this guy done in the same way. Just sculpt a new hero head, paint on some different colour pants, and voila! Simple but brilliant process.
Not too high, 4300 JPY! I was really on the fence about him, and should have adopted, but I spent too much on another set of Tigers, which will be winging their way across the pond soon This bootleg is quite appealing, and I like how the cape was added. The auction description said it was an old toy shop souvenir. Would've been nice to see if there was a maker's mark.
Ha, those are Great! I like your idea of a small line of friends for him too, ultrakaiju. Thanks for posting those! Definitely added to my lookout list
Lol, something to do with anything Tiger Head in vintage equates to "collect multiples of same sculpt!" Nice though, very nice...
I am the new member. Let me share some of my tiger correction https://www.flickr.com/photos/142234694@N05/shares/8A76zy
Very nice man, and welcome to the forum! If you'd like, we have an Introductions thread where you can tell us a little about yourself, such as what got you into collecting, how you found SB, and what you have, etc., and a FAQ section where you will find all kinds of answers to navigating the board. So it looks like you have a mix of vintage and non-vintage figures there. I see some of the Marusan guys too, which I have a couple of from years back, but since they just became completely outrageous with pricing. I don't have any with the championship belts though, did you pick those up separately, or were they released with certain figures?
Thank ,I still try to learn how to post picture in the board.Sorry if I make something wrong. Correct,I mix non vintage and vintage together .the championship come separately. It look nice to decorate to the figure for me.
No problem at all! Nice to have you here. I could see your image fine the first time you uploaded it, but also now with the flickr link works. If you would like to embed images directly into the post, it is done via BB code with tags, or, more easily, by using the icons above, as follows Img tag for embedding directly the link of the location where the image is on the 'net (e.g. the flick address for your image above) or, Imgwidth tag for resizing images on the forum, useful for when the original is too large and cumbersome to be contained directly in the post (the full image is still viewable with a simple click to expand it). As an example, using your image above, Hope this helps.
Wow, fantastic collection man, very impressive. And I like your display case as well. So, since you have a lot of experience collecting these, maybe you can enlighten us, on the vintage Nakajima TM guys, you have a fair few of them, is there a lot of variation out there other than the normal orange/yellow changes and the closed/open fists? Or are you just building a big collection of subtle variations that often come in vintage toys? Do you also collect the minis and mid-size figures? (Sorry for all of the rapid questions, but it is exciting to have some new vintage and Tigermask fans join the forum!) Paging @Mr. Humphreys, I think I see a toy there that is calling out to you!
Welcome and thanks for sharing Kik1202... Steve other than the Tigermask variations there are only 2 variations in the Nakajima villains are the 2 Mr No colour sprays (pink and silver) and 2 variations of Devil Spider (1st ver with brown boots and later ver with large red boots). do you know of any others Kik1202?
Ha, I hadn't even considered the villains variations, Scott, so now you've really gone and gave my head a twist! I have noticed the the Devil Spider boots variation a few times, and I think I must have seen the 'pink' Mr. No variation once, but it is great to actually see it side-by-side with the 'normal' one to see how different it actually is. I am pretty certain there is at least a variation of Great Zebra too, where some seem to have orange ribbing along his mask, while others seem distinctly red. I just meant starting with the TM hero actually, since @Kik1202 has a few of them there. So I am guessing, there are Medicom repros in orange and yellow on the left, and then vintage versions of orange/yellow, closed/open hands on the right, but it looks like there could be a good number hidden in behind too maybe.
@Kik1202 What a fantastic collection of Tiger Mask. I would love to see closer pictures of each row if that is not too much trouble?
Kik1202 - Beautiful Tiger Mask setup. Love the way you have it all displayed. Mine are too crowded together. This reminds me, I need to get back to collecting these. There are a few id like to find still.
Answering Page! That pachi wearing the checkered-table-cloth cape is awesome!!! Did you by chance adopt him a couple of years ago from JYA? Can you please post a close up of him? I haven't been able to find one to adopt, but I do hope to find one of my very own one day. This is a great collection! (I straightened out the persective angle of your photo for better oggling! ) p.s. the display case is also pretty nifty! Can you please tell us where you got it from?
Thank you all for good suggest and comment in my picture.I may not the expert as same as the team in this board to answer some detail.I just like this movie and try to collect that have difference. Most of the collection ,I got from many source from Japan.
Can't wait to see what you'll be adding. You have very good tastes in toys! @toothaction : Ha! See, I'm not the only one that collects duplicates!
Fantastic man! I see you have both the trike rider guy as well as the bootleg driver, which are really some of my favourites. Congratulations on a wonderful collection of Tiger Mask.
