Wonderful shelves @TattooDougHardy ! But close these damn curtains !
Is the whole thing made out of tin?
Thank you for sharing.
That's plastic, It's the centerpiece of a pachinko that has been removed, there are connections behind and I would love to find a way to connect it to the electrical current to turn it back on (but I don't know anything about electricity) :
With the recent announcement of the new Xbox One X, the price of the S has decreased. Figured I'd pick one up now as the lure of 4k is far too tempting.
I have a Fujiko (from Lupin III) from a pachinko machine that I bought at Tokyu Hands like 16 years ago... not nearly as complex but yeah I'd love to have her light up sometime as well.
if you send me some pics I might be able to figure out how to power up
It would be great, I will send you this, thank you very much man !
That is pretty darn amazing, Archam. Even without the lights, a great little piece to display. Great that you actually have an imagine of the original game for reference too. A completely odd thing to come by, but I am glad that you did. One of my biggest regrets from living in Japan was having to pass on a vintage Ultraman pachinko game from a flea market; I just didn't have the money or space to take it back with me, but wish that I had at least been able to grab a photo. I am a huge fan of vintage entertainment machines, a real lost art nowadays sadly, at least in the west. I was just at St. Fagan's museum on the weekend, and they had an excellent temporary carnival set up, with a wonderful amusements section packed with penny arcades, marble shooters, one-armed bandits and English-style pachinko.
EDIT: found a video (not great, but gives some idea) -
Thanks @ultrakaiju , I've been tempted several times to order a pachinko or a pachislot (it's generally pretty cheap) but the shipping costs quickly dissuaded me from doing it. When I will have the place I would probably order one (and a video game arcade too like an Astro City, let's be crazy).
Also, @ultrakaiju if you ever find yourself in San Francisco make sure you stop by the Museé Mecanique! http://www.museemecaniquesf.com
Took part in the Reddit Baseball 2017 gift exchange and finally received my secret santa's gifts after a wait of around a month. I'd normally complain about a wait of such length, but these are totally worth it. GO GO TIGERS.
My wife is feeling bad that I was selling all my toys so she contacted Le Merde's wife to get me this birthday gift. I cried...
Are you sure that she didn't feel bad that you're living in Bingley (apparently) . . . . that would make me cry too!
?? Bingley ??
According to your 'Location' in the sidebar!
No side bar on Iphone + i'm in Canada
That is a great portrait G! The lesson here is that other people are also upset you are giving up your toys (and love you very much of course ).
Early birthday gift from my girlfriend. She knows I'm attempting to dive deep into a fantasy universe of my own making, and she thinks this will help. I love her.
My girlfriend's gonna come home from South Carolina and just look at me with those sassy "You're joking, right?" eyes. I can't wait.
Jesus, I'm a nerd.
Who dares defy the immortal Sutekh?
Okay, many of you will immediately know exactly where these characters hail from...
If you don't, though, here is a
Spoiler: GIANT CLUE!
Yep, you guessed it...
Bif Bang Pow Doctor Who fake Mego Morbius The Master Scaroth Dalek Cyberleader Cyberman Cybermen
EDIT: Missed an H and an S! Corrected.
VERY VERY NICE!!!! Especially Sutekh! Pyramids of Mars is one of my very fav episodes!
Who made these, please?
^ Bif Bang Pow brought these fake Megos to life! The series ended rather abruptly when the BBC yanked their license, but quite a few goodies made it out of the factory beforehand.
Here's a crap snap of the whole of the line:
Some of Mego Museum's coverage can be found here, and write-ups about BBP's Dalek and Tardis playset are just a click away.
Thank you Deevis!
This is Tim. He's cool.
