Interesting choice of attire for someone called "Night Creeper".

Come on, he's got real "ninja" action! I am somehow wondering if the 'banzai bash' bears any relation at all to the 'monster mash'? You know, now that I think about it, his depiction on that cardback seems like anything but stealthy. Oh, the heck with it, you really can't apply any thought processed when it comes to the later Joe lines.

    * and no, none of this is meant to fault you in the slightest for picking that guy up Yuck

Have you even seen the rest of the Ninja Force line from the early 90's? The entire roster is like that, except for Snake Eyes.......he's just your standard Snake Eyes. Also check out the Star Brigade and Eco Warrior lines. They're fekkin' awesome, kehd.

I never felt faulted for picking this figure up. It's just one in a series of hundreds I've been wanting for a couple years now. Violently bright packaging makes my knees buckle every time. You should see my multiple tubs of mint-in-box Incredible Crash Dummy toys that have been rescued from my childhood. Neon orange everywhere.

Those hot pink cardbacks are a trip. I guess I was thinking it was just for that guy. I mean, just from a marketing standpoint... I know hot pink was, well, hot back then, but for boy's toys? Military-themed boy's toys? Weird, wonderful stuff.

I actually like pink in my stuff, but hot pink, neon stuff, I admire almost exclusively from afar.

I had that figure. I think every toy line was trying to out-neon the others at that point. KB Toys, I miss you.

Hahaha, that is hilarious, but excellent. I was just recently looking something up for work, and these came and I was reminded of them. Such a fun, quirky, and different line. Good times (or maybe not, depending on your perspective, I suppose). The early '90s was such a strange time for toys (and other things as well); things were really in a transition period, where the industry didn't know what exactly it was evolving into next, and, I might argue, it was sort of the last big gasp of toylines - and toy stores in general. Yes, you will have to forgive me my nostalgia, but I do reflect sadly on those times, when I look at the market for kids today.

I couldn't agree more! That was the last toy line I was ever really into heavily back then. Lots of Michael Keaton Batman toys, including the rocket launcher penguin, Mighty Max with the Dragon island playset, two Skeleton Warriors, a raptor hand puppet, one of the characters from Primal Rage......and probably way more I'm forgetting. I remember when they tried to re-release the Dummies with new sculpts and what not. Just not the same at all. They made em all goofy looking. I mean......what about the Junk Bots?! The Junk Bots were amazing! Gotta see if I still have the VHS promo movie they released. mmmmm reminiscing.

Just got a sealed set of Bandai Spiral Zone SD figures (1987). Was super happy to see all the figures and vehicles were still attached to their plastic trees. Got to assemble them myself. Super satisfying.

Got a ceramic Micronauts Pharoid chamber (made in 1979) from photographer Bill Bulloch. His book 'MicroMacro' is in the background.I have always loved Pharoid chambers,as a kid I came up with numerous narratives for their function , seeing them as Micro T.A.R.D.I.S. devices.[IMG]

Very nice acquisition @doomboy. I never knew the official story of the Micronauts either as kid - they were just really cool toys - so this is exactly the type of thing I would have done as well. Ah, all those made up adventures in imaginary worlds we explored... Truly endless and engrossing; there is no comparison outside of childhood.

    Thanks very much.
I consider myself really lucky that when growing up, my local source of toys was a strange bankrupt/damaged stock retailer.
They stocked all kinds of stuff not generally seen in the UK, at pocket money prices.I clearly remember in about 1981 playing with a pile of unboxed big Kenner Aliens with no idea what they were ,but totally blown away by the design. They had the Diecast Shogun Warriors for pennies and in my mind that beat my mates Star Wars stuff hands down.
Indeed the psycho-geographical map of my childhood is plotted by points of mysterious toy/model contact. Not necessarily owning stuff but just being inspired and intrigued.Imagining what went on in the worlds depicted on the box art of Xabungle kits in Beatties.

That sounds pretty fantastic man, and I am no small bit jealous of both the Kenner Aliens and the 'Shogun Warrior' stuff. Strangely my own childhood was also so shaped by odd toys, collected from all kinds of second-hand sources such as hand-me-downs, garage sales, and flea markets, Believe me, never were secondhand goods so much appreciated by a person. And, anybody that knows me now (some of who would no doubt rue this fact!) can see the influence in my life today.

Feels great in hand. Orange plug really blows, but maybe I'll find a way to safely remove it. Maybe.

Gun mode. Genius. My first attempt, so not perfect, but it was so solid--even for as intricate as it was.

UPDATE: stupid-ass plug removed safely. Not for kids anymore. Megatron kills.

Very nice G! I am not a Transformer-head (I am sure there is some technical accepted term among the geekdom that I don't care to look up at the moment), but I am very impressed with that toy. Know absolutely noting about it, just like what I see. And never have I see such a 'cartoon' accurate version before. I don't know how the transforming on him works, this seems like a major issue with most of the newer generation stuff (but then, I also lay a whole lotta blame at the feet of the introduction of the Bayformers), but his 'man' state is quite nice. I admit the plug is a bit of a bother; is there really such a safety concern/fear of mistaking this for anything other than a toy?

Yeah, I'm taken by it. I haven't transformed him yet, but the pics look great. I'll post one more once I've done it. it's fairly complex, but so amazing that they pulled it off damn near perfectly. I think the design team won an award. I typically don't keep the transformers I buy--I guess I just hit it and quit it--but this is a keeper...though, the orange plug does bug me. Some domestic retailers do this, and some don't. Bummer. I knew they would, but I didn't think it would bother me as much as it does.
I read a youtube comment that went something like, "mankind has finally evolved enough to make a perfect megatron toy".
