Spoiler I think that tied with Dale's death for shock factor. Both gruesome and pointless and damn good television. Spoiler I think Carol's reaction was perfect given her personal history and how the person she is now would react to the situation she was in before with her own evil worthless abusive husband. Makes sense that she wants his head on a stick. Rick just wants to get laid though.
So I'm on the forum Spoil The Dead and I have to say the fan base for this show is pretty wack at times. Can you believe those sissies are saying things like Spoiler "I cried when Noah died" and "OMG this show is too gruesome and his violent death was unnecessary!"? I swear they must be a bunch of 12 years olds staying up past their bed time. Really? Scary? I've never been scared by this show. I thought Spoiler Noah's death scene was great, finally the show is getting some snarl back!
best episode in a while, I hope they continue with this momentum. I think its weird to see them using paper cups & plastic utensils... I tend to believe these things would be in short supply. Also, do you really need a party of 6 to find a power inverter? I was thankful that... Spoiler bass music survived the apocalypse =)
Not watched last nights episode yet and have intentionally avoided reading the latest posts, but just spotted this elsewhere . . . Spoiler I think I preferred the Triumph chop but am hoping to be converted! BTW Rumour has it both were/are overdubbed to sound like Harley's. Gotta love America . . . faking the funk in the name of patriotism.
That's ridiculous. It's bad enough people are actually crying over a fictional character... Spoiler but c'mon, dude wasn't even with the group all that long. Violent death unnecessary/too gruesome? What show have these kids been watching? Completely agreed that was the best death to date and hoping to see more in the same gory style... Gabriel's snitching probably guaranteed him a nice grisly demise when the time comes. Saw a commercial for some wack-ass show on the CW called iZombie (the premise is so absurd I thought it was a joke at first), maybe the crying 12 y/o's should take up watching that instead... bring on the gore!
Let me say agree that this show should be gruesome based on the concept and source material alone. BUT, Let me play devils advocate for a second on the two other topics. I have been in the room with someone who has been invested in and cried over the deaths of fictional ccharacters. Thou I didn't share in the grief to that extent, isn't that the point of a dramatic show. Too build and attachment and relationship with the audience. Especially in shows like walking dead and game of thrones. The characters sometimes have years of character development that people watch. Seeming someone (even fictional) that you've become invested in murdered, Usually in some gruesome fashion. It makes sense that some people are gonna shed some tears. And for izombie. I have not read it's source material. But the comic it's based on is by Mike Allred who's work I love. So I'm holding a glimmer of hope that it's not as stupid as it seems. That said, It seems really stupid haha
I'll be the first to admit that more than a few deaths on GoT got me a little verklempt. On Walking Dead the only time that really happened was when the stuff with Lizzie and Mika went down (okay maybe Hershel too). The real reason I think it's ridiculous is that Spoiler Noah had only been on the show for a handful of episodes. Thought the character was too hastily/sloppily written in (and consequently out). The whole architect apprenticeship bit seems like it was thrown in just to get more of an emotional response from viewers over the death of an otherwise easily forgettable character. For people to be crying about the death and how gruesome it was just seems a tad absurd. They might as well be welping about that Aiden guy too... Geez, It wasn't like tween heartthrob Daryl got killed off.
It was great to see Bill Hicks . . . sorry, Eugene take a stand and not be a pussy for once in his life. Love that guy. I agree about Gabriel, what an ungrateful bastard. They save his arse countless times and that is how he repays them? WTF? Also, do you think the gut-munching scene of Noah's was a homage to the original Day of the Dead?. The famous scene where the guy gets pulled in half. It looked very similar . . . .
I was going to say the same thing. It's not like it was Glenn, Daryl, Rick, or Carol- pretty much the only people left from season 1 (well Carl but no would cry if he died). Guy was only around for a few episodes. I was disappointed when Ty and Bob died, but not driven to tears- come on it's a TV show. I miss Shane only because Jon Bernthal was a good actor and liked that whole dynamic btw him in Rick. Again though I'm not sobbing into a pillow. That's some tweeny emo crap. Kids so sheltered they would live beyond day one in a catastrophic event. Speaking of WD what does everyone think of the spin off coming this summer supposedly? I'll tune in because it takes place when the outbreak first happens. Not fond of teenagers on the show though. They can get off my lawn.
They should just re-use the cast from The Hills / Laguna Beach & kill them all, brutally if possible.
that would be awesome, "celeb" guest appearances that never make it- fantastic. But I do have to say that it really sucked when they killed Murray in Zombieland.
Fully agree that said character was far too new. That's part of why I thought his dismemberment was so surprising. I was just speaking in general terms of people's connection to characters.
anyone wanna buy the old Trumph? http://www.2040motos.com/Chopper/Ch...er-triumph-chopper-old-school-triumph-109100/ I love me some Honda
This goes back to the first time Aiden and Nick took Glen and them out to do a patrol. They told Glen, et al, to do what they said, and that the last group of newcomers they'd taken out had panicked and gotten killed. Aiden was admitting that it was they (he and Nick) who had panicked, not the other people. Which in turn means it was they're fault they got killed.
Interesting night: Spoiler A little too convenient circumstantial for me but you knew it was all coming for weeks. Rick was a little creepy with Jessie though doing that whole move in close and whisper thing that he always does. At least they made the fight semi real because Pete is about twice the size of Rick. So I'm wondering if these 'W' zombies are part of the Whisperers from the comic? They happened later in the comic but it would not surprise me to use them now. While I know they are definitely zombies and not people disguised as zombies on the show, it still seems way too early to bring in a Negan type group, and I'm sure AMC will save that for another season. Perhaps this is another crazy group of people using the zombies as a weapon (like the Governor did) and a plot device to help Rick & Co. save the day saving this naive group of people in Alexandria? Thus establishing him as the leader even though it appears right now he's on his way out?
There is always something about this show that bugs me and reminds me of something bad from the 70's. I stopped watching during the govener season but came back mid last season. Glad I did though there are a lot of little things that irk me. Everyone in town is to clean. Washing machines? Washing in a river? That town wall would fall fast with a few hundred zombies pushing on it. So really this town should already not exist. Plus you really need to make your town as 'silent' as possible. Basically you should build a circle of ramped earth. The ramp in the inner wall. Then the aluminum siding against the ramp. Then a moat around that. And of course spikes on both sides of the moat or a barbed wire mesh around. Keep things from getting to the wall in the first place. And the ramped earth would help with soundproofing. I know it is to much to do for the show but the weak aluminum wall just bugs me. Helium filled balloon? Really? Don't use symbolism if the material is unrealistic. Rick is to much like middle management. Thinks he is always right. Can't be corrected. Can't think outside his own opinion. I actually like his son better. If the lady that runs the town knew her son needed to get his ass kicked then she probably knew as well that his buddy was a liar. Didn't she say that she is great at reading people? Oh well...I guess it is the best zombie show currently running. Maybe they should add comic outtakes at the end of every show?
Good points Saints. I think it was mentioned (by Deanna) that the town was already eco/green sustainable/recyclable ready when they arrived. Like it had built for emergencies such as this. So that might explain away the whole river washing clean thing. Having said that you are EXACTLY right on the whole hundreds of zombies pushing thing. Eventually they'd get it. That was sort of explained away also by Deanna saying that northern Virginia had been effectively evacuated so not many people alive or dead around. Obviously though more appear every day so either these Wolves or whomever they are using the zombies might have something to do with that. The whole flip flopping on "I can read people well Deanna" is really dumb! Yeah as soon as she's a grieving mother that logic goes out the door even though she knew her son was a douchebag and rat faced Nicholas is so obvious as a liar. Again though logic goes out the window as soon as we need a conflict plot device. At least WD is consistently incosistent! I ask again any thoughts on the spin off coming this summer (which takes place just when the outbreak starts)?
Personally my favorite aspect of the show seems to be the writers least favorite and that's the whole survival thing. Finding food and water and shelter is always interesting to me but usually it's barely even an afterthought in the show. With a spin-off taking place much earlier in the timeline it seems that stuff would be even less of a factor and hold almost none of my interest at all.
might have just been fan service. I think there is more than one wolf, the writing on the wall seems to indicate that anyway.
^ ^ episode 13 ^ a little earlier in the second part of the season http://www.pajiba.com/the_walking_dead/ ... g-dead.php
Well, at least we had a few episodes where Rick wasn't absolutely obnoxious. I knew it couldn't last.
