The local sports station is saying he didn't want to come to Boston.

We'll see. I'm not saying the Bruins are going all the way BUT neither are the Pens or the Habs. So fans of those teams can eat it as well! In fact I'm going to really enjoy the Pens fire sale off season to get under the cap.

Pens are a bunch of pussies. How's Flower doing after his own player banged into his head?

I love how Canadian fans come out of the woodwork when their team has basically been a perennial basement dweller and the joke of the league for YEARS. Don't worry you'll be back in the basement by next year. Here watch some moments with your team getting their ass kicked:

Not excited about Iginla going to Pittsburgh either, they have such a strong team already, I am surprised they want to add more scoring. If anything they need someone else to backstop. Fleury is okay, but he is such an off/off goalie, like Price, and when they are off, boy are they off. Price has rebounded to a some extent now, but MAF is still a big question mark and has been going down if anything I think. And of course we all know where having a good goalie gets you in the playoffs. But of course it is where Iginla obviously wanted to go. Anyways, they are at the top already, so in terms of how this shifts dynamics I don't see it doing that much. They'll get better no question - and it will be even worse to play them. Waiting to see what happens end of season.

Thought you might appreciate that. Can't find a pic of Neely pounding a Canadian so this one of Lucic pounding Komisarek will have to do:

Oh and for you Pens fans my favorite of Neely pounding Ulf:

One man advantage 4-3 is not the same. It seems that way but reality is in a close game like that barring a flagrant penalty refs should not be making that call, unwritten rule of hockey. Habs already were pulling the goalie so giving them a 2 man advantage in the last minute? Shame on the refs. Close games should not be settled by the refs.

And to all the Pens fans stop acting like the cup is going to be handed to you on a platter, you can stack your team all you want. Doesn't guarantee you the cup. You can't factor in injuries...Malkin and Letang get injured every other week, and look at the Rangers? Stacked with talent but not going anywhere.

Dear Lixx it is only a game.

Having said that it is a great time to be a Pens fan!! Although it was still great being a fan in the early 2000's when they sucked, tickets were cheap.

More than a game to me. It takes as much time out of my life as toys. AND I've hated the Pittsburgh Penguins more than some ex girlfriends in my life! I'm 44 so I've watched a lot of hockey over the years. I've hated them when they had Lemieux, Jagr, Ulf, and I hate them now with Crosby, Malkin, Letang, Neal etc. I like to smash Crosby & Letang's faces into a wall. I hate their dumb nicknames the stupid ROOT homers give them like "the kid", "flower" and "geno". I hate that Ulf Sameulsson took out Neely's knee and basically shortened his career. Basically I hate the Penguins more than anything in my life. That's how much I can't stand the Penguins! Every game I see them in (and I watch them only when they play the Bruins or Flyers) I hope their team gets paralyzed. I also dislike Montreal and the Rangers but nothing comes close to the Penguins.

 Now that is passion! Awesome. I feel the same way with the Ravens. I hate that team so much. Maybe a little less now that d-bag Ray Lewis is gone. Uneducated jackass :!:

While it is totally not in my nature, I now will enjoy every game the Pens win more, just because I know how much it pisses Lixx off.Nothing is worth getting that crazy over.

    Ulf was a brute though.

I confess to a strong hate to Messier though.

Yeah Ulf was a brute  Don't make me laugh. He was a dirty player who routinely got his ass kicked, including by Neely, and Domi knocked him out cold. Real tough guy

TJ were you up all night trying to come up with that one about pissing me off? Try harder...

My friend's 5 year old calls him Cindy Crybaby. He say the little guy thought it up all on his own but I kinda doubt that.
I guess April 6th is the last Habs/Bruins meeting for the season. Should be a great game.

What do you guys think of Winnipeg? I was shocked to find out where they are in the standings.

Sharks seemed to have woken up after trading Douglas Murray. I'm kinda bummed he got traded cause Sharks now don't have a hard hitting D-man. Brad Stuart is a good hitter but he doesn't have the same impact as Dougie did. I like Stuart but when he makes a mistake, it's usually a big one. They've been on a goal scoring slump for a while scoring an average of 2 goals per game. It doesn't help that Clowe still has 0 goals. Not sure why Sharks picked up Scott Gomez...or why anyone would pick him up at this point. His career just went downhill since he left the Devils. Moving Burns up to wing was a good move by the Sharks coaches. Burns must be thrilled and it is showing in his stats. We shall see what the last few weeks of the season will bring for my toothless Sharks.

Just saw Crosby took a deflected slapshot to the face. That is never good. I am sure he will probably be fine, but it looks like Iginla might need to step up in the lineup earlier than expected. Also glad we put Kaberle on waivers, decent rating for this season, but an unnecessary part of our team.

Wow the Pens really like taking out their own! First Kennedy takes out Fleury now Orpik gives Crosby dental work. Can't be any worse that what happened to Duncan Keith a few years ago. Man up "kid"! Hope Kunitz gets suspended for that dirty hit from behind on Bailey. Guess its a good thing you guys picked up Iginla.

haha, good one. Maybe it took all night because I work 60 hrs a week and have more to worry about than sports grudges. Things like sleep. Anyway, this was fun but I'm out. Good luck to your Bruins but I'll still "root" for the Pens.

As much as I am not a fan of Crosby, I don't ever wish for a puck to the face. I've taken one, and and was lucky enough that all I got was a cut on the chin...well and my jaw hurt like hell for the next week or two (chewing was awful). All my years of playing and I finally get hit a year or 2 ago, and a few weeks later I got a new shield/cage combo (I used to play with a half shield...dumb, I know). Damn combo weighs a ton. I ended up with a small quarter inch cut that bled like there was no tomorrow.

What the hell did the Hawks take before playing the Wings today?

I have to agree. I can't speak for the hockey-specific injuries but anything to head and/or face is not something I ever like to see. The incident in Kazakhstan today really highlights the importance of safety and attention to things like concussions. I had to have my jaw wired shut for 10 weeks with a splint inside, and let me say that is an incredibly unpleasant experience I would not wish on anyone.

Geez guys get a clue. I didn't say "I'm glad Crosby got a puck to the face!" I loathe the Pens and yeah I wouldn't mind getting into a bar fight with someone like Crosby or Letang but quit trying to make me out to be some kind of villain. All I said is man up kid, and it was in reference to Duncan Keith's very horrific puck to the face where he lost 7 teeth and was back on the ice that same game. Only someone like Crosby would be done for the season for pretty much the same injury that's all I was saying. Disliking a team is one thing but personally wishing for an injury on the ice is another. Everyone here is so politically correct anymore you can never make a off color remark. It drives me batty.

Of course man, none of that was directed at you, just general observations on how much it sucks. It is a safe bet that we all know (well most of us I would hope) this is all good-natured sports fan ribbing out of competition in this thread. I wouldn't take anything said here personally.

oh...my post was totally directed at Lixx

nah...just kidding!..but Crosby does need to man up. Come to think of it, a lot of players now seem to get offended by a good clean hit. Those guys won't be as productive in the old days of clutch and grab hockey.

My "best" hockey injury was a puck to my ribs. A guy wound up for a slap shot and I saw it coming straight for my sternum. I tried to get out of the way but was just a bit too slow. I got lucky on that as well since the puck was...as Disney calls it...a knuckle puck and I got tagged with the flat side. Still, it was hard enough that it knocked the air out of me. I remember laying on the ice and everyone around me asking if I was okay. I told them, I can't breathe...you guys are sucking up all the air around me! We all laughed and they helped me up. Later on, we were all changing after the pick-up and my friends start laughing their asses off and were pointing at me. They told me to look at the bruise it left and guess what, it was round (like the size of the flat side of a puck...so that's how I knew which side hit me), and it left a waffle patterned bruise because of the shoulderpad's foam padding. I told the bastards to stop making me laugh cause it hurt when I laughed. I wish cellphones with cameras were around for that one. Another "injury" involved my head, the boards, and then my back pain going away. These were all years apart but yeah, I'd say I'm pretty lucky so far (I'll probably get injured tomorrow at pick-up after saying how lucky I've been).
