Well there is an idea, a squishy sofubi sculpt with a dickhole and a plug like a water gun, so you can fill it up with liquid and have it pee.
Slap a $1000 tag on it, PROFIT!!!

Was this a digital sculpt that they copied and pasted the skull 100 times? This is a perfect example of over designing, or designing without having an overall vision for the sculpt. I want that belly eye to fit in the body, then you squeeze the body and it pops out.

How about those nipples, or pasties if they are covering his nipples.

Reminds me of those Berserker things from Nightbreed that were locked away forever because they were too dangerous.

Another big titted, fat dicked toy from some random dude in Hong Kong with ~400 followers and balls the size of grape fruit to charge $250 for an 8" toy.

The tragedy is the sculpt work itself is really detailed and good. It's just creatively everything that is wrong with the toy scene right now.

Not that I disagree, but wasn't this just posted 5 posts above?

    ^Yeah, that's it, Ben.
The wearying thought of wasting more words and headspace on this garbagey sculpt thwarted me, but I almost enumerated the things being ripped off in it. Groman BBB, various Mishka mediocrities, with liberal dashes of Mockbat (belly) and Sludgie Dx (gen'l proportions, skulls aplenty) for good measure. So, so lacking in vision.

The thing that also bothers the shit out of me is the price. Even if this toy was brilliant, pay your dues man. You can't price like a respected artist that has been doing this for years on your first fucking toy. I recently scored an 11" 9 articulation point Japanese sculpt that is a thing of beauty for less money. I'm not attacking Chinese sofubi production: it's come a long way and some manufacturers are doing great work, but come on. It's cheaper for artists to make it in China but these dudes price it like it's premium shit. It's not.

At this stage there's a whole subculture of mindless hypebeasts who are going to pay $300 for practically any new toy, just in the hope that it becomes the next hot thing. And these new makers are taking advantage of that big time

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for new makers coming into the scene. What bugs me is what was stated above, how nobody WORKS to be a toy artist anymore. Just put out a toy, charge top dollar, and hope it works out. By jumping straight into sofubi you end up releasing an ode to your own ego instead of a thoughtful toy.

I recently got a Jumora from Apos Toys in the mail. New maker, first sculpt. Something like $65, comes in an incredible box, has an omake, and with two little cards of artwork. THAT IS HOW YOU START OUT. A low price, a refined sculpt, and trying to build confidence in your brand through simple touches like packaging.

Or maybe we're just getting old, and the whole "work your way to fame" thing is outdated.
I dunno, I seem to gravitate more toward artists who came from humble beginnings or stay humble through their subsequent popularity surges. I mean, Rich/MVH could easily charge $1,000 for a Berserker if he wanted, yet he doesn't. He started in resin and worked his way up to where he is over a period of years. Yamomark has been around forever and even when he releases a popular sculpt, he just ends up making more versions than jacking up the price.

    You get what I mean.

The whole “work your way to fame” thing does seem to be outdated, look at the Hip Hop scene in its present state. MCs that are high on codeine and not even using real words or rhyming and getting paid millions and are famous as fuck (for now..)

This has probably been said a hundred times already but: Kaiju Tan, Kaiju Tan, a thousand times more Kaiju Tan. Scummy artistic practices aside, I just can’t get into this weird pig-man shit. You’d wake up one night and find one of those abominable mutants, grown up life-size, eating your guts out.

I wasn't watching Apos Toys at all until I read this, but now I will. Thanks!

Okay Skullbrain, let's put on those fun hats again. This place is far too serious of late. [Well, except for that very important discussion on the artistic merits of wood painting, and where exactly does the breakdown of stick versus branch occur, that is a philosophical discussion for the ages.]

This one is all for @toothaction. Spoiler-y-ed, because, really, I think this needs it.
    Eeeeeyiikes.

What is this lovely creation you might be asking yourselves? Well, this is all I know, and more than I care to investigate into.

That's a Soft Vinyl Abomination by Ron English™ and imo still one of the all-time top 3 contenders in this thread. Why not just dig up & skullfuck Charles M. Schulz's corpse, would've been easier and quicker on everybody...
