An old classic, the burnt turd style.
A fine example of a well preserved coprolite (fossilised dinosaur turd).
Ah man, that's unfair. These are fantastic in person. And absolutely massive to boot.
I saw one of these in Goto - San’s studio and was completely thrown back by how damn massive they are. Not only large scale height wise, but also thick as hell circumference wise. Not my cup of tea at all, but it’s impressive in person.
I think the dude who made this was originally doing similar sculptures in wood or ceramics first. If he came out with these today he would probably be hailed by the masses as a true Japanese artist and these would sell for a grand.
Especially if they had a Nag Collab and some fake hair added to em.
@JoeMan Not knowing of the artist’s previous materials in past works, I’m not surprised by this toy’s appearance, especially after knowing the woodwork part. Wholeheartedly agree that it’d have a much better chance of universal praise by big spenders of both monies and emojis, but I don’t think it’s new enough. Had to have appeared randomly on IG out of mystery to gain traction.

... I said ping pong balls, not king kongs balls ...
Boo this toy. Booo!
My favorite fuglies in a long time.
They are sooo … something.
@nico000 I think those are great. They look like fucked up Halloween costumes you’d see in super old black and white/sepia photos. I’m just waiting for the right colors to come out before I pick one up. Neither of these versions do anything for me, paint wise.
I m with you, they are great. I think fugly great but and still great.
I see we have different color preferences. I can’t imagine anything better than pink and green (for all and any toys… I just prefer my toys pink or green).
I’ll probably pick those guys up this weekend if they re still there.
Is the green guy Peter Bogdanovich?
These guys are freaking derptastic imho. First impulse buy in forever.
I like pretty much everything Bukimi Blasters has made. It's all wonderfully ugly but in that fun vintage cute kind of way. His paint isn't overbearing either. Prices have always been very reasonable too even though his runs are pretty small. Plus he is really nice and doesn't seem pretentious at all. I'll grab that cute elephant when I see a color I like. Maybe a grey base or something similar.
@Waterbear Gotta say his usual crude stuff with splattery paint does nothing for me, which is why I never would've guessed these guys are made by BB. Super clean & understated, paintjob & colors are spot-on, heavy pachi vibe and the doll eyes just work so well with the derpy faces.
90,000 Yen + tax + shipping.
25 of each.
cant wait to see the nnn one-offs here where they bELONG!
I'm glad toys like this exist; I see the exact people I expect to own them buying them up on IG. Keeps that stupid cash away from more more interesting makers.
One off with a wig, 500000Yen.
Also this thing.
Nope. . .
