as far as practicing what we preach, i dont think our price on the grey bagman is quite the same thing as knunt's price on the rxh red mini chaos with black paint rub ($135). practicing what we preach would be selling that same mini red chaos for $40, which we did just over a week ago.
i took adam's comment as a joke. im curious as to how some of the preorder pricing works... for example the unpainted toygraph godzilla set was a preorder for 200 if i remember right, while another place had the same set for preorder for around 110 bucks.
Im curious about in-store vs online stock. apparently in-store stock is not available to phone orders, even when multiple are still in stock?
whoops! sorry if i misread a joke comment as a not-joke. darn these internets and their lack of inflection! with pricing on pre-orders, we are a buisness after all, so we mark up the products we receive to cover the cost of keeping a store open. i dont know about other vendors, but i assume vendors that offer much lower prices either get drastically better wholesale deals than we do (which i dont think is very likely), or the company is just one person without a shop or employees. as far as posting about knunt or whoever else, its not really a hard rule against that - more of a suggestion to consider how different vendors contibute positively to the hobby or don't. its a free country of course, and everyone is certainly welcome to spend their money as they see fit. we probably won't all agree all the time, but thats okay. i do, however take slight exception to the occaisional assertions that super7 is involved in price gouging/money grubbing/etc, as we all work very hard, and none of us drive ferraris or anything. sorry for the long aside, back to your regularly scheduled secret base thread.
im not sure which figure your referring to, but unless it was for a particular release, we do accept phone orders. if you (or anyone) have any issues, youre always welcome to call or email me.
ive never had a problem ordering on the phone, usually ive found thats the best way. i love the personal touch from josh or mr bunny.
I was joking Josh! I love Skullbrain and Super7..even though Iv'e never been there..the mag is the reason I have my cool toys and know about the word kaiju
I second this. Just saw this post and have to say everyone at S7 has been very helpful. They are always going out of their way to make sure that all of us are happy. They even go as far as to sacrifice what would be their toys so that more of us are able to get them. Especially with a lot of the new RxH. I love SUPER7!!!
As josh said we don't do phone orders on certain new releases. This mainly to level the playing field because of how quickly things sell out. Other than that we are more than willing and do phone orders.
I don't have anything against a "Fresh Meat" doing it other than the fact that they should do a little research on the board first, but again it's understandable. My issue is with people who bring it up or defend the site, ignoring the request to not discuss it. Not you personally, but the issue is raised on the site (5 times now?) and than a few people start defending it and all that and it's like, that's not the point! Just don't post about it. But it always comes back...............................always.
I have a second issue with posting links. If you want a fig bad, you're actively looking for it, checking every outlet you know. If you're looking for a figure and say there are a couple places you haven't checked. And someone sees it before you and they don't want it but post it here, and someone who isn't really actively looking for it or who doesn't want it as badly as you jumps on it, just because it's there. Too me, in my humble opinion, if you're not going to buy, if you know there is a board member here who really wants it shoot them a pm, but don't spoil the find for someone who really deserves it.
i just bought that fig cause i myself missed it and for me posting that announcement, i was just trying to help others who missed it. my bad for wanting to help out, wont happen again... cheers! oh and fyi i badly wanted that brain and im so stoked that i finally got it!
Well I thank you manilagorila because I bought it too from there. It was priced below eBay so I did not mind paying that. Plus I am always looking for new shops to scope out from links given even if they are sold out I know where to look next time.
I'm glad both of you guys were able to get a fig you were after. Maybe there are pros and cons to both sides. Sorry, I didn't mean to insult anyone or stir up any muck, hope you didn't take any offense. Cheers.
Honestly the worst prices at all times I have seen so far seem to be on ebay and specifically with the SB items on there. I think that is why this other site is starting to look more reasonable. ebay is starting to be the last place I ever look for stuff or mostly the place to find out what the worse case price is plus 20.00 for shipping. Unless it is for non-hyped vinyl then you might find some deals still. Some of the Marmit things I might pick up there.
I can't remember the last time I bought something off of ebay. Jacked up prices on BIN Scrambled names of bidders No ten minute reset unlike YJA so it brings out sniping Just nothing really interesting in a long time Retail and the occasional pickup here has been keeping me broke.
Yeah hiding the bidders name is so freakin' lame. I can't even choose to not outbid someone I know anymore. On the other hand, I've kind of rediscovered ebay. I think part of it is that my tastes have changed, but it can be a good resource for some things...good deals on some vintage stuff and when older kaiju stuff pops up (M1, marusan, marmit, etc.) it almost always goes far cheaper than YJA with fees/shipping etc.
