IRC is just a protocol, like HTTP, so there are plenty of apps that use it. There are still a lot of software developers who have IRC channels open.

It's a weird SQL error that has popped up from time to time over the past several years. The server gets a little mixed up and I have to restart the DB. It's unrelated to this conversation of the longevity of SB.
Same reason some of us still buy vinyl, CDs and books… part nostalgia and part ‘new’ doesn’t always mean better. In-built obsolescence and treadmill to sell the consumer the next thing has a lot to answer for. Honestly, who needs a new phone every 6-12 months?! And, why do I need another app that already does what I can already do fine with what I already have in place or installed? …other than for ‘them’ (the developer / company) to datamine the hell out of my life in yet one more way? (I appreciate that is an entirely different topic!)
Not speaking for the company, just myself here, but Skullbrain is amazing, and I'd protect it if it ever came to that (but I don't foresee that being necessary). Though I joined awhile ago I wasn't a part of this community, just lurked, but it having stayed active is amazing, as my main forums (like most) fell apart years ago/moved to FB and lost their magic. As for Sofubi - we aren't done. It's been taking some time, but I am very excited for what's to come. I am very interested in preserving our history and our roots, especially as we grow. Getting the magazines back online was just the start. /goes back into the shadows

Yeah totally! I'm anxious too, we haven't had a release (save for 2 dcon items last year) since I joined and it's been awhile. Edit: I am always happy to chat ui/ux/web experience with anyone though. Not being able to find a product or product category is definitely not ideal.
Everyone can take off their tin foil hats. Yesterday's situation was a little different than the other times the board has had issues, but I was able to quickly get Josh working on it and we got it resolved as fast as we could. The host had an incorrect email address on file, and when the payment method on file expired, nobody received emails warning about service interruption. We've since gone in and updated the card on file, and changed the contact email to be mine so we can fix issues way faster next time. Sorry about the downtime everyone!
