Thought I'd post up this new series I've been working on, since I finished the main body and a couple heads. The lab mice. I've got a lot of other ideas for bodies and heads planned that should let me do some pretty cool and bizarre things. But for now a super smart lab mouse, and a hybrid lab mouse
Re: SPLURRT (Lab mice series sculpt reveals) That brainy lab mouse would be awesome with some vintage squeak toy colors. This series has endless possibilities. How big are the sculpts?
Re: SPLURRT (Lab mice series sculpt reveals) Well the brain head is bigger than the hybrid but that one is a little shorter than a Diggler.
Re: SPLURRT (Lab mice series sculpt reveals) So... Did you see the episode of Robot Chicken with Pinky & the Brain? We need tribute figs!
Re: SPLURRT (Lab mice series sculpt reveals) Didn't see that Robot Chicken. But watched Pinky and the Brain all the time when I was a kid. Definitely will be paying tribute.
Re: SPLURRT (Lab mice series sculpt reveals) Cool work Joe, especially diggin the hybrid mouse. Perception of science is so funny, we can generate whole organs and grow cardiac tissue that beats on its own, but alls anyone will remember is that someone at one time put an ear on the back of a mouse.
Re: SPLURRT (Lab mice series sculpt reveals) Really unique design on that hybrid mouse. Nice work on both figures!
Re: SPLURRT (Lab mice series sculpt reveals) Great Stuff Joe super fun and great for mixing in the collection sneaking around doing sneaky shit
Re: SPLURRT (Lab mice series sculpt reveals) Super smart lab mouse will become a genius with mecha brain transplant surgery!
Re: SPLURRT (Lab mice series sculpt reveals) The work on these is clean and precise. Can't wait to have some painted up and looking fancy.
Just a note for people heading to the TAG show tomorrow. My pieces for the show are currently lost in the mail. I don't know if they will show up in time for opening night. Tag may still offer them for sale and send them out when they arrive. But they will likely not be there.
I see you used the San Jose zip code too! I noticed that when I printed the label at the post office, but didn't change it ...d'oh.
Yep, I did it the old fashioned way though, and the guys working didn't notice it was the wrong zip. Did your stuff make it anyway?
Absolutely people will buy them. I have purchased this way. As long as pics are posted somewhere it should be good. Yeah the post office is really sucking recently
Last I checked it was sitting in San Jose, not sure what they'll do now. Probably send it back to me. Like a dummy I didn't take any photos of it.
That sucks Jeff. I just got my package returned to me today. I guess TAG will still sell the pieces, and fulfill them when they are in, or at the end of the show, not sure if it's cash and carry or what the deal is. I'll get these back out to them on Monday, but since they won't be there tonight, here are nice pictures of all 3 pieces.
Beautiful selection and variety of colours. Really nice work on the mecha brain CK Joe. Also, the bubblegum pink vinyl on that Usir.
If you are in line for purchases at the TAG show tonight and want one of the above pieces just let us know. If it is available when you ask then it is yours. As far as cash and carry goes. All runs can be taken with you except for the last piece in the run which will stay till the end of the show. All one-offs will stay in the show and be picked up after the show ends on October 8th
Joe, this is beautiful work. I just have to say it - sculpted and painted by the same person - fantastic. I love Japanese work like a drug, but Some of our home grown talent is just inspiring; you, Rich and PK always spring to mind. So happy to have some pieces by all of you in my collection.! Plus u all rock as people too!
