Re: Splurrt Vinyl (Pre-order Details) Congrats again Joe, I'm eagerly awaiting my set Now time to decide, do I paint them or leave em naked ?????
Re: Splurrt Vinyl (Pre-order Details) Thanks for the update Joe! Cant wait to add this one to the Splurrt family i have happening on my bookshelf.
Re: Splurrt Vinyl (Pre-order Details) Great style on this, I love the Garbage guy on your blog as well, really cool stuff.
Re: Splurrt Vinyl (Pre-order Details) Thanks for the kind word guys. I've been told that the test pulls are finished and have been sent to my producer. No clue if he's going to snap some shots before sticking them in the mail for me. Garbage Garth (why can I instantly name every figure but this vinyl?) is currently stalled while I get the vinyl rolling, but he will be the next resin. I'm pretty excited about getting to work on him, and have some interesting ideas for paint.
Re: Splurrt Vinyl Just got some images of the first test pulls. I was hoping for some crazy special color, but love the way the white shows off the detail. I also had Velocitron paint one up.
Re: Splurrt Vinyl (Now with test pulls) I am so incredibly stoked for mine, damn!! Joe, you must feel so excited (accomplished?), to see it in vinyl! It just looks so good!
Re: Splurrt Vinyl (Now with test pulls) I've been working up to this for 4 years now, waiting for this. I would have thought I'd be jumping up and down, ripping hair out of my head. But actually I'm in a quiet mood of reflection. I'm sure once one shows up in the mail and I actually get to handle it I'll really flip out.
Re: Splurrt Vinyl (Now with test pulls) Totally understandable reaction, it must be sort of surreal right now, especially with just a photo and not something tangible like the actual test pull, but I'm sure that you'll feel a lot differently when you get it in your hands. You should really be proud though, it turned out beautifully!
Re: Splurrt Vinyl (Now with test pulls) That is KILLER JOE! CONGRATULATIONS! It's so Finky and I love small size figures! I wanna paint one!
Re: Splurrt Vinyl (Now with test pulls) Thanks guys. I'd love to see what you would do to this guy Paul. That can definitely be arranged.
Re: Splurrt Vinyl (Now with test pulls) Joe the test pull looks AMAZING! I am so stoked for you. Can't wait to get my black one.
Re: Splurrt Vinyl (Now with test pulls) Seriously awesome. That painted sample is stunning, really shows the potential of paint on this sculpt
Re: Splurrt Vinyl (Now with test pulls) Seriously Joe I'm so happy for you. This so far is my favorite toy this year, without a doubt ! Think we can Ricky to do a run like that guy ? I want one !!
Re: Splurrt Vinyl (Now with test pulls) For some reason I didn't realize the arms could move until seeing these pics -- this guy keeps looking better and better to me. Joe, did you decide on a name yet? (Or are you going to be like those parents who wait until they have their baby in their hands before they decide what to call it?)
Re: Splurrt Vinyl (Now with test pulls) Thanks guys, glad you're excited. Yeah I'll definitely see if Velocitron wants to paint a run down the road. Yeah, that's a good way of putting it, I have some ideas, once I get one in hand something will probably fit, he'll have a name before the pre-orders are shipped.
Re: Splurrt Vinyl (Now with test pulls) How the hell did I miss this up until now?!? Looks stunning Joe
Re: Splurrt Vinyl (Now with test pulls) I was never really a fan of some of the earlier stuff like splugg or the executioner...they simply did not work for me...but am pretty impressed by this guy. He looks like he was chewed and ripped apart and then stitched back up and couldn't be happier. Like he's seen a bunch of shit but is still really happy. Great job.
Re: Splurrt Vinyl (Now with test pulls) Really glad he did the rub on there, now we can see that amazing texture. This thing rules! Especially with his arms up Congrats
Re: Splurrt Vinyl (Now with test pulls) Thanks for the encouragement everyone. Thanks, I know you're a tough critic Bryce. Yeah, I love the Splug and Executioner for their history. When I started making toys, like most I wanted to immediately go vinyl. But I'm glad I waited. It takes a while to develop your style and technique. One thing I've been really into lately is the emotional expression of toys and tailoring the expression around what the character would be feeling or doing. With this guy, Exactly right. Just some lost soul drifting in a void, all of a sudden just shocked back to life. Even though you're in this deformed ridiculous body, you're just happy to be alive again. I think of him as an infant, the body is matured, but the consciousness is still new to the physical, or getting readjusted. It would be like a baby or child, just full of life, experiencing everything for the first time. Getting a second chance to live again. He just wants a hug from the mad necromancer.
