I sometimes think I'm an old fart musically but nothing new compares to the energy, sheer volume of music like this. New music sucks mostly. I miss going to shows and not being able to hear for a week afterwards.

Soul songstress Sharon Jones dead at 60 Such an underrated talent, Ms. Jones and the Dap-Kings contributed a wonderful thing to this world with their funk and R&B revivalist tones. I don't even thing most people would have recognised the name, though many would have undoubtedly heard her music, and fewer still would even know that this was a contemporary effort. Featured on many great soundtracks, including recently in the Luke Cage series. Another sad loss to cancer, in a year that has been rough already. RIP. "I want to sing.
