Thanks Jason! Yes, a lightbox is pretty much the first thing I would invest in as well. I have seen some DIY plans online that wouldn't be too terribly expensive to make, but that would require $ that could be a toy, plus actual labor. Anyway, at least you are taking lots of pics working with what you have, and your toys always look like they are having a lot of fun. I say everyone should be taking and posting more pics!
Well the sun finally made an appearance today, so I was able to bust out the ol' point-and-shoot to grab some pics of of these two classic M1 beasties. Both sculpts are pretty phenomenal, and topped off with Yuji's amazing paint, well, this is what toy collecting is all about.

Love that Woo... But, man, that Mechagodzilla. I don't give a damn if it's a repro...it still makes me randy...
Ditto on that....I went for one also when I realized how expensive and futile finding a real one would be. Sanjeev did you own the M1 at one point as well?
Yup...I had that same MG1 painted up in original colors Steve has. I actually have one of M1's Titanosaurus/MG2 sets in glow, custom painted by my buddy, John Groff at KaijuZoo: http://toyboxdx.com/phorum/read.php?1,1 ... msg-150309 Such an amazing pair!
The M1 Mechagodzilla is a real stunning figure. As I was going on about in the flickr, what really killed me for this particular version is not only is the sculpt so great, but the classic colours and extra black sprays made this the one for me. BUT, beyond everything else, the thing that appeals to me most about this figure that made me fall in love with it, is the vintage tribute, with all those colours being put on top of the flesh vinyl. I love sprayed flesh-tone toys, and even though you can't even see it because Yuji did such a phenomenal job, somehow just knowing it is there and how true it is to the Bullmark checks off every box I could ask for. Those are really great customs Sanjeev, the Mandarake set has been my choice for MG2, because apparently I am picky like that ( ) but the hunt continues. I did however just manage to grab the Titanosaurus today which is a bit of a coincidence.
I love the Mecha G sculpt as well, and have my 2 favorites already, the Mandarake GID and the Grey LB version. I'm trying to limit myself to one GID and one normal paint app per sculpt. I didn't know that that Titanosaurus was the other half to that Mecha G or else I might have snagged it this morning. Isn't there another version that has yellow painted missles with black tips? I wouldn't mind trying to track that down.
That does exist and so does a middle size, both are pretty hard to find now as they were pretty small runs for such a popular character. That MG is an homage to the Big Size Bullmark missile firing MG. There is another that's really nice, it's an MG that is painted in the "Space Titanium" color way, it's nuts up close.
You can't beat a bit of MG !! Here are the two 'missile tip versions' mentioned above - Here's an MG shelf photo taken a while back that I haven't posted yet. M1 mids up top and full size / mini on the bottom -
Thanks for the info Dennis, i will have to keep my eyes peeled for that version. I also really like those Beams versions so i might have to break my "one regular paint per sculpt" rule. M1 puts out too many good toys.
That midsize MG is easily my favorite MG sculpt ever. Too bad I only have 2(blank red and og bullmark) and that shelf shows I have a long way to go.
Heh...funny how that amazing collection shot reminds us all of what MG toys we need! I'm no different--I need to pick me up a Toygraph 50% transforming one.
Yep, I think we are all feeling that. Ian's collection is rivaled by few I am sure, certainly none that I know of. I definitely need those missile two firing MGs... and some mid sizeds..... and some TGs....
Glad you like the collection, thanks I should have a new addition this week to throw out my shelf symmetry! - Tokyo Cultuart Beams 'cloudy' version. Yes Ted - unpainted blue, pictured here with other Wonder Festival 2010 MGs and a stray Matango! New YJA goodies! by fun9us, on Flickr
I forgot I even had the blue55 MG, Megan stole it and has it at her work. I'll have to remember to steal it back. This can't hold up against that amazing MG army but I was stoked to see these pop up on Mandarake a few weeks ago. I didn't even know there was a release like this existed and I couldn't wait to see them in person.

I've always wanted the pink/purple mini on the left in front of the glow MG. Was it a lucky bag version?
I've dug out a pdf of the original auction and translated it - looks like it was from an M1 egg released for WF2010...
That thing has eluded me since the day it was released. I remember standing around with everyone else opening eggs and people were trading, that's how I got the missile finger middle size MG, but there were only a handful of those little pink guys and I couldn't afford aftermarket prices. A few of the egg figures were made in tiny amounts. Heres a pict of what else was in the eggs that time, the three MG and Titano are super hard to find. WF Winter 2010 by Omocha to Neko, on Flickr
