Danke! I've been after this fellow for 2 years. I was stoked to pick him up. Just a couple of must-have Chaos's to go! It's fun chasing down older RxH since there are so few out there. Sure takes a while, though.
If someone doesn't feel like saying something, do you ask 10 times or stop asking? This was a private purchase for my collection. Not sure why I'm obliged to post the price. So let's leave it at that and get back to posting RxH pics, eh?
Andy, considering the "sell-off" as some have put it, it would be interesting to know what an older, rarer figure sold for these days. Most people that saw those figures today at Mandarake, have said that prices were quite expensive. If you don't want to share the info, then that's up to you of course.... But it would certainly help to have the latest info on the sale of a unique figure like that.
The older figures sold at the Mandarake sale were all over the place price wise, mostly around 20000-40000 yen. As far as I can gather, they weren't up there for sale at the same time as the Devilman set was released. I think they went into the case a bit later in the day - but I might be wrong about that. At the end of the day, however, I wouldn't be overly concerned about Mandarake pricing. At the last sale I went to (last year's anniversary sale), prices were totally spastic, and had nothing to do with standard "going prices." In general, Mandarake has the most random prices of all the Tokyo toy shops.
Pretty interesting indeed! Typically Mandarake's pricing can be very reasonable, a veritable bargain even....and is typically a stellar example of "right place-right time" visits....so you have to visit often! Congrats again on the killer score!
Thanks yeah that's exactly right - you have to hit the stores a few times during a visit. I think they tend to price by character, especially for toy lines they don't understand very well. That's where you can really score great deals. For RxH they're slightly better. I think they fact that everything's in total flux makes it hard to be spot on with a figure's price. Anyway, if the Japanese yen stays this strong, who knows what will happen. Looking at this stuff with "90:1" in mind is a hell of a lot different from "115:1" Why can't this stuff be made in Korea?
You ain't! . . . like Logang I was simply curious to get an idea of current market value . . . your reluctance to post hints that you got gouged! No biggie!
There are some premium priced ones this round but the best pieces are still NFS. Maybe most folks were distracted by the bemon sale so there are not too much action. Anyway, i am happy that my picture is improving
I went back tonight, and there are still a number of nice pieces, but the prices are mostly high - 25000-35000 yen for some of the nicer ones. There are a few good ones on the NFS top shelf, including some older GID figures, but nothing I wanted as much as the blue bubble Chaos, so I'll be fine if I miss out on those once they're sold. Actually, I've heard Mandarake has boxes and boxes of all kinds of great stuff in their store rooms, so it's possible the figures they put out for this sale was just a bunch of stuff from a back room. I certainly never saw the blue Chaos displayed in the Not For Sale section, and I was in the same Mandarake as recently as a few weeks ago.
