Class A actor sadly never taken very seriously by Hollywood despite being in top dollar films such as "The Magnificent Seven ", "The Venetian Affair," ''The Bridge at Remagen," ''Julius Caesar", "The Towering Inferno", ''S.O.B.," ''Superman III" and "Delta Force." Best known in television's "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." but my favorites were his creepy character in HBO's"The Hitchhiker" Season 2 Ep. 1 "Face to Face" and one of his best roles, playing opposite Steve McQueen as the well connected politician in Bullitt. Rest in Peace, Robert.
While he immediately comes to my own mind - in addition to all his other work like you mentioned - from his stint on the A-Team, I have to also mention his appearance in Roger Corman's Battle Beyond the Stars, itself a remake of Magnificent Seven, wherein he played the assassin Velt, essentially a revision of his original character from the western adaptation. A sadly under-rated character actor. May he RIP.
Wow! I tuned in every week at the time but was in no way hip to Mr. Vaughn then. Neat pull. Too funny, I just dumped the theme song over in SOTD. Grape mines. What a face he had! Always a star to me.
Wow I didnt know this actor was in all this awesomeness. I've only seen him in the BBC show Hustle, worth a watch if you havent seen it before. RIP old timer.
