I don't think I need to say much here, really. The man was rock 'n roll before there really was such a thing. The tributes pouring in from musical talents of all genres speaks to how influential his music was. He broke barriers in the industry people probably didn't even know they were there, because they had never been tested. For someone who drove his contemporaries and subsequent generations with his gifts, counting among those Elvis, The Beatles, Dylan, Bowie, Hendrix, Elton John, and so many more; not only were his own songs vital to a rebirth of music in the '50s and '60s, it drove so much which was to come. His contribution to the that amazing mix of blues, R&B and gospel which revolutionised rock 'n' roll in the 1960s is forever going to be a part of the musical landscape and history. I know his music touched many people, and I am sure today many are thinking back on good memories and times his songs evoke. As the man said, if there is a rock and roll heaven, they are getting one hell of a pianist and signer for the band. RIP Little Richard 5 December 1932 – 9 May 2020
