It's not quite so bad here in Texas at the moment. Although everyone is paranoid about another storm shutting off the power for five days because the powers that be don't want to pay to weatherize the state grid. But Peguila would love it no matter what. In fact, maybe he's responsible for all this cold!
Got a nice Sunday mail day with some new Ultra Q buddies. For some reason, Buyee would not let me bid on these guys, so I took a chance with Neokyo as a buyer service and it worked out. This is my second time trying to nab the Goga/Todora pair. My first time I went through Celga and either the seller never shipped, or Celga never recorded that they received the items. Booooooo.
After years of looking I finally tracked down a standard size Alien Balden! I spotted him hanging out in an IG photo posted by Kazumitsu. (You can see his backside in the photo below): View this post on Instagram It was in pile of old toys found in his warehouse, shown drying out after a wash in his cars window. I sent him a message asking if he'd consider selling it, and he agreed + did a custom paint job on him to top it off. It's a really unique sculpt based on an old model kit: Here are a few photos I snapped of this cool Marmit version:
Holy shit...that story: When it comes to toy collecting in this day and age, it doesn't get much better than that. When they adapt it into a movie, Dwayne Johnson should play you. The clear progression is that you and the president of Marmit become bests friends and fight toy crime together... I mean, who wouldn't pay to see The Rock dealing with a scalper?
Haaaaa!! Now that’s an idea! But can I please request that one of the ‘Barbarian Twins’ play me in this film?
Kanegon arrived with nasty vinyl residue. Still haven't got it all cleaned up. But I'm very happy with the colors on these new guys. Maybe my favorite coin banks so far!
Thanks, I will definitely be looking to grab more of these guys as they come up. I thought I had my hands on one of the minis, but it was missing in action. The model kit i’s based on is currently on YJ. Definitely interesting, but a little too pricey for me.
My first Marmit and my first Godzilla. Really love the sculpt and paint on this one. So much I bought a second one after the first one I got had some large paint scuffs the ebay seller forgot to mention A 2001repro seems like a new figure but somehow its been 20 years already [sigh]
Hoping this is the right thread to post this.I figured it is the place for fans of these monster designs. They appear in 'MicroGroup Game Review Vol.14'.The artist Yasushi Nirasawa has worked on Kamen Rider. I hope Balden the Hutt gets made one day. LwMDzxP by i thorn, on Flickr
Make mine Marmit! Just received this awesome Ambassador Magma Goagongon. The hands! He's been cracking his knuckles too much. Should have listened to Mom.
