I freakin love this set. Everything about it. I may cry just looking at it. I've been trying to get a new toy producer I'm working with to go for a "crawling" style figure, but they aren't digging it. Maybe have to kickstarter it on my own.
^^^Ditto on that. Great colors on top of that glow. Pain in the ass to display though. I still have that Marmit Glow Hedorah in the other pic (on right). Very underrated toy. Glad to see you posting great pics again Chase!
That is such a awesome playset. I agree that as a kid (not that it negates now either) I would have loved anything like this. Just the thought of having kaiju and other toys crawling all over it and trying to get to the Science Patrol's secrets. Very sweet.
Thanks, gents! I couldn't be more excited to have this in the house. Choon indirectly hipped me to it's existence from an old post of his, and I have to offer major props to Steve for going WAY above and beyond to help me bring this heavy chunk to Michigan. Score of the year. Here's ten more reasons why Marmit rules: Godzilla Daisenso-Goji Megaro-Goji Gigan "Jet Jaguar" Megalon Rodan Radon Magma Mothra Xian Nataru Xian Alien Seijin
I have that Rodan, hes an awesome mini. Definately have to track down that Mothra though for my slowly growing shrine...
^^^ Dare to dream, man - collect all ten! http://www.clubtokyo.org/listings/itemL ... entID=1427 http://www.clubtokyo.org/listings/itemL ... entID=1428 Pics, please.
Those minis are great, I hope Marmit does more in this scale someday, and hopefully some GIDs Thanks Chris, its been great to let loose so many great toys I had packed away for years. I've never had the crawlers displayed due to space issues, but luckily the minis are very small and can be crammed just about anywhere. Do it! Even though crawlers are space hogs I refuse to discriminate.
Does anybody know if there's a database online for Marmit Super Action Heroes (the 12" figures)? I ahve one that I bought in LA 15 years ago that I cannot identify at all. It's making me nuts
http://www.marmit.co.jp/ There are three links at the very bottom of the page. You might find what you're looking for somewhere in those links - and welcome to SB. Mind your manners. Or don't.
Awesome to see some new people not immediately drawn to all the hyped toys threads. Marmit is a nice crossover way to pull people in to the dark side of vinyl. I don't have any of the SAH figures myself, not being a 12" collector, but have often lusted over the Star Wars line.
This...I really want this. Not just for the fact that it's been in just about every bizzarre "Mysteries of the Unexplained" book for the last 40 years because it is supposed to be a sculpture of an "astronaught" but because it's just plain cool.
Oh! so thats what that pokemon "Claydoll" was ment to be based on... Its a very nice sculpt, reminds me of patina'd brass
^^ What are you even talking about? I had to google the image but there is nothing even remotely close between the two. It's based off The Dogū.
