You actually made the postal carrier pick up that big ass thing of popcorn? LOL I bet you he is secretly cursing you, you’re probably better off next year just giving him the same amount of cash that that tin of popcorn costs. thanks, I really appreciate your sentiments. On top of the shit sandwich that has been 2020, remember, we also had that whack job of a new postmaster general to deal with. Remember all the reporting about postal machines being decommissioned, taken apart, removed? That all happened leas than six months ago. LOL
oh yeah, I remember the sorting machines fiasco. I hope the new administration can boot that PMG and get someone who actually cares for the postal system in place, as opposed to someone who has business interest in the competition. and good news! Apparently one of the packages I’ve been waiting on has updated as being “out for delivery” today, and it’s one of the Christmas gifts for my wife! So I can wait on my soft vinyl toys, the important one is arriving.
Roger, I’m just kidding around man, I’m sure that he loved it. I’m sure your postal carrier is just like most other human beings, they are just moved at the fact that you actually thought of them and did some thing for them. With all of that being said though, if I had to choose between a big tin of popcorn or cash, I’d pick cash.
Does anyone here have any experience with Japan Post, specifically with Surface Mail? With EMS down, someone shipped to me via Surface Mail, instead of EMS, Airmail or SAL by mistake. Their site has an estimated 2 months, but it's been a bit later. I love DHL so much.
Surface mail is exactly that, traveling over land or sea instead of through the air. I've had surface mail package take up to two months to get to me, so that's a reasonable estimate.
USPS system is so gridlocked that I sent a package within NY (I'm from NY) and it got routed to a distribution center in FLORIDA for processing. That's right, the nearest processing facility to NY that was accepting packages for distribution was in FLORIDA. I sent 6 packages that day and they all got sent to the same distribution center in FL. Another story, a Priority Mail "2-Day" package from CT, which was sent on Dec. 12, took exactly 2 weeks and hung out in St. Louis for a while. Historically, I've had nothing but great experiences with USPS (which apparently is rare)...so I'll give 'em a pass this time. But, damn!!
I'm in New Jersey. Today I received a package that was sent Priority Mail from Oregon. Things seem to be improving.
Meanwhile, I just checked on a package that arrived at a facility 15 miles from my house on December 22. Still there.
Thanks! I forgot to add, I can track it and it's shown no movement for 2 months in the same sorting facility within Japan. I got a lot of domestic packages today actually so I agree, it's definitely improving!
All 37 of my packages arrived and some things I shipped just a few days ago got through really quickly as well.
I wish I could say I was seeing improvement. I’ve still got 4 delayed, one from Ohio, one from South Carolina one from NYC. I’m in the Philadelphia metropolitan area and it’s been between 2-3 weeks for all of them. I’ve also a handful of stuff from folks that I’ve asked to hold on to until January before shipping.. If it’s going to be delayed, I’d rather it be in the hands of a fellow collector than on a skid or in the back of an overfilled trailer.
I have a handful of very small items I am wanting from Mandarake at the moment, but I am not about to pull the trigger as of yet. Covid = DHL only and as much as I like DHL I do not want to pay what they are asking for maybe a 4 ounce parcel. It ends up being more than the products themselves. Just going to try and wait it out until normal services resume. As to US domestic mail, USPS is always all over the place. They haven't been reliable in years. And since that sack o' shit appointed that other sack o' shit to head up the service, things have only gotten worse. You suckers that continue to live on the East Coast (as if watching leaves turn yellow in Fall is worth four fucking feet of snow and sub zero temps ) the vaccine logistics have been priority and have slowed mail delivery amongst other services. But I stand by my previous comment, USPS is a debacle and needs a complete overhaul.
Lol. I’ll take snow over drought, wildfires, earthquakes, hurricanes, or tornados, thank you very much.
The stimulus thing passed but for some insane reason the bill itself gives the government only until the 15th of January to send out every single payment to possibly hundreds of millions of people. So that has horribly backed up USPS yet again.
Which mandarake did you order from? Was is the Sahra store? For some reason they handle DHL and checkout differently than any of the other mandarake stores. And it results in a much higher shipping price. It was discussed somewhere on the board last year. Sorry you got gouged
just had to cancel an order i placed on december 9th.... no shipping update or order update... the bummer is they have a retail location they can ship from literally 10mins away from me but they arent open to the public right now
